First off, thanks to whoever cancelled their order through Peachstate Ford in Cedartown, GA. I've got a deposit on it. Funny story: the day I finally requested to join this "club" after months of reading the posts here, on Reditt, on FordAuthority.com, and reading/watching every Maverick review that exists, I intended to ask the question: "on account of the chip shortage, would my order get built faster if I leave off CP360? What about the Lux package?"

After waiting too long to place an order, I had just test driven a dealer demo and was working on my specs for a build when the orders open back up. I was looking at waiting a year (as you all know too well) and gas prices aren't looking good. And comrads, I drive a Silverado. Should have put in an order last fall...

Before the admins could approve my membership here, Brian from one of the many dealerships I had called called me back to say he had a cancelled order expected to arrive in May. Black wouldn't have been my first choice, but I like it. XLT w/Lux package, AWD, CP360, and a moonroof and sliding rear window. Nearly perfect. I wanted FX4 for the few times a year I go backpacking in the north GA mountains and those rough forest service roads, but I'm sure I'll be fine without it.

So I'll give up FX4 to get my hands on one sooner. I was ready to give up CP360 and check my blindspots the old fashioned way. GM stopped installing seat warmers, so maybe leaving off Lux package would speed things up. Does it seem that orders are taking longer with these mircochip dependent features, or is that just my superstition? What features would you compromise to get into a Maverick sooner rather than later? Have you given up on your build order because you found one available? I'm planning to pay $3K over MSRP, by the way.

Thanks!

What is worth waiting for? The truck I want with the options I want in the color I want at the price I want.

I'm going to have this thing for a decade or two. An additional two to three months to get it the way I want it for the price I want to pay for it is fine.

I have an XL AWD EB with CP360 on order. My Tundra lease ends in August. If it’s not built by then, will probably buy a used beater CUV or minivan to tide me over.

What features would I give up? Heck, give me crank windows and all manual HVAC controls. It's what I have now so it's not like I'd be missing anything. I'd like to see the car reviewers that whine about undamped tailgates lose their minds. I doubt there's anybody left at Ford that knows how to design that way though.

The one I built at 4% under invoice. Zero compromises.

Peach State Ford is not far from me. I had Courtesy Ford in Rome, GA offer me canceled order that was basically my build (different color) for $2,500 over MSRP about a month ago, and I refused it. I understand $2,500 is quite low for a markup on a hybrid, but I would have refused it had it been my build. I'm just not paying a markup.. I don't care if my Maverick gets scheduled in 2022 or 2025 or ever, for that matter. MSRP or less, or I'll buy something else.

Are you getting it at MSRP? The dealer I was planning to place an order through was going to tack on $2500 for some stuff (attached list).

Surely they were not charging $995 for a spray in bedliner on a lux package truck? I've seen this, and that's a scam since they come with them.

Have you ever ordered a vehicle before or would you have if not for this particular new truck and the current market? I’d have never considered it and would have said a few years ago that only suckers pay MSRP. But these are strange days we’re living.

Yes. Dealer advertises low pressure sale and no added fees ever.

Wouldn't be the first time a dealer charged for something that the vehicle already came with.

Or charged for an "alarm" system on a used Focus with a passive alarm already, where whatever they installed caused the alarm to go off all hours of the day and night. They got my mom on that one, the neighbors loved it. :(

Doesn't matter what they advertise. One dealer chain goes on about "The Family Deal" and things like that, then quotes $5k+ ADM. Do they really treat family like that? Only matters what's in writing on the deal, that the price is as stated and nothing else is to be included on the vehicle.

When I spec’d it the Lux package included a hard drop in liner. I hadn’t yet gotten an answer as to whether I’d get credit for the free liner I was not going to get but was included.
