The latest I've heard is that the base plate manufacturers are in the process of designing and producing for the Maverick. Roadmaster sent out a request for a volunteer vehicle for design specs and that part has been completed. Not sure how far along. Best to call their website.Has anyone towed a hybrid yet? I have one ordered and planning on towing behind my RV.
Since your post was over a year ago now I assume you or the shop doing the work have received the base plates? I’m curious how did they mount them without interfering with the louvers in front of the radiator(s). Someone posted a concern that tampering with the louvers could void the warranty????The Maverick hybrid can be flat-towed. It's one of the reasons I got it, too! As Dad said, the hardware is in development, or might be out already.
Edit: The towing section of the owners manual as the procedure for flat-towing.
Thanks now I have to go look to see if the louvers are there because I just received my unit in mid June and I was told there were no recalls because all were done prior to leaving the factory in the middle of May.Swtiming, the lower louvers had to be removed to install the roadmaster setup. Since then, Ford has ordered those same louvers and more removed as part of the fire under the hood campaign. The issue I had had to do with installing tow lights and tapping into the factory harness for the diodes. Ford ask me to have it returned back to original before they would do any warranty work. They said nothing about the louvers since they needed to remove them anyway. Hope this helps. PS it tows great!
