Wow Ford said it was delivered on the 8th. What a bunch of snakes.

I already got another truck and got my deposit back but this just makes me so mad.

I already got another truck and got my deposit back but this just makes me so mad.
I would still pursue further and see if anything legally can be done. If they got away with it this time they will try it again.

I know you are angry and most likely just want to be over with it.
Turn the info over to a local TV station that does reporting on consumer issues.
They would have a field day with it.

What a dishonest dealership. They used a customer to order the truck then sell it to another customer for an extra 5K.

Probably not gonna happen but Ford really should come down hard on these dishonest dealers. Glad OP at least got his deposit back.

This is the kind of thing that actually gets dealerships in trouble with Ford. How dumb are these guys? The customer had the Vin. It's not difficult to confirm what they did.

At the very least, they owe that $5k mark-up to you. I would be very surprised if the GM doesn't agree to that on the spot when you show up with the evidence.

Sadly the VIN eventually supplied shows this to be completely true. Thank you Google cache.

Interesting Google reviews for this dealership where customers complaining about markups on the Maverick get these types of answers (bolding is mine):

Thank you for the feedback Tim. I honestly wish we were in the car business of 4 years ago, negotiating down from MSRP and a lot full of vehicles. I will absolutely order at MSRP with no hesitation. I only get a few of these for actual lot, and a customer could sell next day for a profit if I sold at MSRP. We are just pricing against the market new and used and I wish things were different. What's also interesting is they got a bunch of bad reviews in the past months, but last week was a flood of good reviews...effectively pushing the bad ones down.
