I am not a dealer, do not work at a dealer or have any dealership affiliation at all. I ordered a Maverick on July 23, 2022
I have a HYBRID XL built (on 02/26) and shipped (02/28) with an expected arrival date of 03/20 to 03/26. I have decided to sell it after I title it (have to and Missouri DNR says may take a week to get title back in my name) but won't drive it other than the 8 miles to home from the dealer.

The Maverick HYBRID XL is Velocity Blue, options of: Co-Pilot360, Trailer Hitch Receiver and Factory Spray in Bed Liner.

How much do you think I should ask and hope to get for it.

(After selling it I will buy an Escape Hybrid)

IDK, but exactly what net profit do you expect to make after you pay your sales tax, titling and registration fees? The next buyer will then be purchasing a used vehicle which will likely effect their finance rate if they need to take out a loan. And finally remember that if you sell the truck for more than your purchase price (before tax and tags) you are obligated to claim that value on your income tax, and yes, the IRS absolutely does check. You will pay your tax basis on the profit. Good luck

All valid things to consider. I can get a refund on the Sales tax when I purchase the Escape and pay the tax on it. Financing for a buyer on a used vehicle is something they will have to consider. I know I should be able to get more for it than I paid, just don't know what to expect. Based on other threads, Carvana may be my way to go. Will call Carvana once I get it. Thanks

I think you could get at least 5k over what you paid for it. That should net you at least a few thousand after taxes and fees, etc

I think you can easily get 30,000. The dealer by me has a Lariat with comparable features at 37,500. 10,000 over MSRP.

Truck is being sold to me at invoice, just a few hundred dollars under Window Sticker (on a base XL model there is very little between invoice and sticker, I know dealer does get more from Ford.) I'm Interested in finding what anyone has Paid for a comparable truck, give me a better idea of what I should expect. FYI, truck does have a Factory SIBL, only two days between built and shipped, so those with SIBL it may not be as big a deal as used to be.

I have similar options and XL hybrid. Since I sold them a car at a good price, this truck replaced, I was curious on how much carvana would offer me, seeing high mark ups, they only offered $26k. I was hoping for $30-$31k. I have reserved F150 lighting early on, hoping I will be able to buy it, so eventually I will sell this truck. With the hard cover I added, I am almost to 26k plus got 0%, so not selling at that price, will drive it and sell when I have the replacement in hand.

Thanks, how long ago was your Carvana offer? How many miles did you say it had?

Congrats on your Mav order. Many are still waiting for their orders to be scheduled, in-production, or delivered. For resale, it will be considered a used vehicle so eyes of the beholder for you.

In Missouri, if you buy a vehicle, title and pay the tax and sell it then you have 180 days to apply for a tax refund on that vehicle if you buy another and title and pay the tax on the new one. Works the same on used vehicles. So, if you buy a vehicle, sell it and buy another with in 180 days you can apply for a refund on the first one. Anyone buying the vehicle does have to pay tax. States make out on vehicle sales, if the same vehicle is sold over and over the State keeps getting the tax.

Never heard of a "rollover" sales tax refund before. But it absolutely changes the calculus on this deal. It will make sense for you and the buyer.
The used car aspect matters only for financing. If I were buying it I wouldn't care about the 8 miles. Warranty is transferable. When you sell it will technically be a 2-owner car, but only Carfax will care.

After all that, I can't answer your question. I won't pay a dime over MSRP, but I don't need a car right now. If I did, I'd likely pay 3-5k premium. There's still nothing comparable on the market.
