I can be an example of why, because I did pay a little bit over MSRP for mine this week.

My house / garage were built in the 1960s and I only have enough room for 207" of a car. The Ford Maverick is the only truck (except the CarTruck Santa Cruz) that fits, at 199" length. It gives me 7 inches of space from concrete wall to garage door sensor.

Also, I hate driving big vehicles. For all the things the Maverick has, for the size of it, it is a no brainer.
Yours is exceptionally edge case scenario so I am gonna give you a pass.. ha

The whole point of Maverick is budget truck. It defets that point, if paying over MSRP. There are other capable vehicles with out there instead for a little extra cash.

If one can compromise on the bed functionality, virtually all the compact, midsize SUVs are on the table (you loose the bed but get more legroom in back seats)

But hey, I ordered and will wait for mine - Granger deal

I didn't want a budget truck. I wanted a loaded truck without spending $50K or more. So cost was a driver for me, but not a budget featured truck.

I also wanted to downsize as I no longer need a full size truck anymore. Features are more important than size to me.

I'm in the same boat as you. Want a bed but didn't want a big truck. Wanted features but didn't want to pay big $$.

The Maverick is a lot of things to a lot of people, which explains why Ford is pulling their hair out at the tremendous demand they have for it.

That might end up 20k over sticker too.
They might. I'm sure some dealer will. Dozens or hundreds. But there will be dealers that sell it as MSRP. Or better. I wouldn't buy it, unless it was without markup, myself.

And you believe you’ll be able to get one in person? 😂
I have a great high volume dealer that sells retail orders at MSRP. Even Broncos. If I wanted to put in the leg work, I don't see why I couldn't be the first one ordered from that dealer and thus be near the top of the list of people who get a Ranger Raptor. So yes, I do think I can get one. I received my Maverick relatively early in the process, and I waited 3 weeks to order.

However, I have never said I wanted a Ranger Raptor. But I might get a next generation Ranger. But I don't think I would choose the Raptor.

Isn't that the whole point of this conversation? A $60K ish Maverick. And why we wouldn't do that because it loses it value proposition and encroaches on other class vehicles.

Yes lol i was never trying to detract from your point. Was just making a joke about the likelihood of getting a raptor instead 🤷‍♂️

Patience and willpower. If folks stop paying ADM then dealers will stop charging it. I can wait.

I signed a deal for a Rapid Red First Edition at MSRP yesterday (got lucky, another buyer backed out), no ADM, no wheel locks, no security etching etc etc. Just the sticker price. Plus I got the sales guy to throw in a bed extender. Paying huge ADM is nuts, as this market will correct and buyers will get hit with massive depreciation later. We are lucky in Canada as ADM really isn't a thing here. I am taking delivery in 2 about weeks.

That's funny. So easy to lose perspective in brief written communication. Thanks for helping me get back on track.
