I also clearly remember Tim saying they are adding $2,500 to stock units. Now I guess it's 5,000 on top of that. This practice should end - no more ADMs - punish the dealers - right.
hahaha - I can promise you one thing the way this gets stopped is people quit paying 7500.00 over MSRP. The dealership is not your friend and not your relative and they don't give a crap about selling a vehicle for less than what they can make on the open market. Everyone wants to blame a dealership saying they're greedy but in reality it's the consumers that are paying that much more for the truck that are idiots. That's how supply and demand works by the way.

Ok, maybe I mis-read that. I knew it was definitely not allowed on customer ordered vehicles to raise the price at all, but thought there was still something on lot vehicles above MSRP a certain percentage.

@fordvideoguy quoted a Ford Rep about the excessive fees to bump people up reservation lists for the Lightening. No comment from Tim or Ford on the ADM on refused retail and all stock orders. From what I understand Canada has a law against ADM's.

This exactly, how can you blame the dealers when someone is more than willing to pay??

Watched the video and the guy who made it is an idiot. Who cares if Long McArthur is marking up the Maverick?
@fordvideoguy was completely transparent about the miscommunication and completely refunded the wood be buyers CC deposit.

2 months ago. Ford dealerships in So Cal were marking up the Maverick 15K after an order fell through. Of course it was "loaded" with everything FX4 etc. Every unit was sold in 4 days or less. Today with no inventory, trying to sell base XL with "contact Dealer for pricing" Welcome to the world of Supply and Demand.

He's the CEO of a for profit publicly traded company. He's going to say whatever is required to keep the share prices in a good position. His duty is to the shareholders.
Agreed. He’s a liar.

Like I said, there is no proof either way. How are you going to sit there and say the salesman did something wrong when you have no proof. I really hope you're not a cop/lawyer or judge.
Price gouging is price gouging. If I remember correctly when the Pandemic started some sellers tried the same thing and legal actions were taken. Of course this isn't hand sanitizer or toilet paper but just the same it appears to be the same thing....fortunately I'm willing to wait and hopefully the deal I have in writing will suffice from such shenanigans..

I'm going to give you the legal definition of price gouging. Are you ready for this??

Price gouging refers to when retailers and others take advantage of spikes in demand by charging exorbitant prices for necessities, often after a natural disaster or other state of emergency.

You justify to me that a new truck is a necessity and I MIGHT consider your argument.

Bottom line-It's not price gouging.

Here's the thing, people are paying $10k over for used Mavericks. Why shouldn't it be "reasonable" to expect the same markup on a new Maverick? I personally think a dealer asking 10k over on a new dealer stock maverick is reasonable. Would I pay it? Hell no, would I pay MSRP for a loaded Lariat? Hell no but some people think the price of admission for paying a 10k markup is reasonable so the market is dictating price. It is what it is. Why would a dealer sell to you for MSRP and make a few hundred off of the truck when another person is more than willing to pay a 10k markup???
What he said...

As long as folks keep paying an ADM then dealers will keep charging it.

That guy mentions that he’s followed and watched Tim’s videos. Tim has said for a few months that if you order with them, it’s MSRP. If it’s a stock order or an order that a customer backs out of, there will be a markup.

Exactly, just about every one of Tim's videos I've seen he clearly states that they charge an ADM for dealer stock and abandoned special orders. This kid has no excuse, it's his own fault and nobody else's.

Tell that to the guy that had his previous transportation breakdown and needs to go to work. I've read several such situations

I thought he said the miscommunication stemmed from the fact that the dealership couldn't adjust the shown pricing while the vehicle was still listed as in-transit, and the sales rep failed to ensure the the customer was fully aware of the markup that would be placed on the vehicle upon delivery. I don't remember if he discussed any followup with the customer.

When he says they're evaluating the market, they're probably looking at dealers within like 100miles and the average markup. Then looking at the curve of markup vehicles converted to sales, and then putting their pricing in the sweet spot.

I hate that dealers are marking things over msrp when cars are already price gouged 90% of the time anyway in a normal market, but I can't fully fault a private for-profit company for trying to.. make a profit.
Long McArthur is also on record for adjusting the prices of other models DOWN and up after their weekly Tuesday sales meetings. In YT E28 he stated the F-150 went down in price so the dealership could stay competitive with others in the region. They currently have 35 on the lot and some are discounted up to 6k.

You don't HAVE to buy a Ford Maverick, plenty of other viable options out there. Sorry but a very specific car is not a necessity. Being in an emergency situation and at the same time being picky about HAVING to have one of the most in demand vehicles in the country is just plain idiotic.
