This guy posted a video talking about Long McArthur and even mentions @fordvideoguy. I know alot of people have thought he was a good source of information and granted I am not sure Phillip (the customer) actually talked to him, or just saw his videos and went to Long McArthur because of it. Just wanted to put this out there.

Tim has been pretty upfront in his livestream videos that Long McArthur is charging an ADM for Mavericks that aren't special orders. If you have an order through them you'll pay MSRP, but if you just show up and take an available one off the lot they charge more for those. I think this guy was just ignorant of that policy and now he's mad. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@fordvideoguy did address this in one of his latest videos, even though he didn't call out the customer by name. He admitted there was a lack of proper communication and discussed the markups his dealership is putting on their stock Mavs. It's not a good look, but he did promptly and openly address it.

Wasn't there a post somewhere that mentioned any dealership charging a certain amount over MSRP would be flagged and not be allowed any more allocations. I am not sure if it was 10% or $10k over. But definitely not a good look.

I remember a discussion about dealers being punished if they inflate custom-ordered vehicle costs, but ADM on a stock unit, I believe is totally allowed.

Disclaimer: I haven't read every post here, so I may have missed something.

No restrictions on stock or customer dropped vehicles....

But it seems he was told around $21k, then when it arrived it went to 30k. I would have been pissed too especially if I had driven all the way there and there was suddenly a $7500 markup. Nissan did something similar to me. I called about a truck, put a down payment on it at MSRP. Get there and look at the truck, we agree to MSRP and then when we go to sign they add a 2,000 paint protection package. When I balk they say, well we could add $2k to the MSRP but we feel this is a better deal for you since you get paint protection. And they wouldn't budge. I finally accepted it but wasn't happy about it! At least it was less than 10% markup.

Ok, maybe I mis-read that. I knew it was definitely not allowed on customer ordered vehicles to raise the price at all, but thought there was still something on lot vehicles above MSRP a certain percentage.

Not exactly. He did nothing to explain if his dealership reached out to the individual that complained nor did he mention how this happened. Lastly he said that they evaluate the market and adjust accordingly on in stock vehicles which may explain how their markups have risen from what was originally lower markups but anyway he explained it doesn't change the fact Ford said this approach was a No No.......

I don't recall a rule saying that 5 years ago a customer couldn't haggle more than 10% off sticker price on a random car sitting on the lot, so I don't see how this is unfair. Charging more than MSRP for a CUSTOM ORDER is a different story, but stock units or leftovers from a cancelled order are fair game.

From my gleaning, the comments were directed at lightning reservations, and any shady markups on customer orders....not on stock merchandise or customer dropped orders
There is a link in that article pertaining to a Mustang Mach-E with a $10k markup on a dealer lot that the CEO put the kibash on as well. Granted another EV, but still seems like he definitely doesn't like the practice.
