Okay, I rarely put the tin foil hat on, but here's something to think about.

What if I told you these posts by people who have very few of them could be from dealers trying to get people to cancel their order and get their deposit back? Then the dealer can sell the truck that's already being built for a fat ADM.

Would it require the dealer to be absolutely horrible and unethical? Yes.

As we've seen, there are some who are.

And now, let me go use the tin foil for what it's supposed to be used for. Covering up my leftovers.

There's already, albeit a small amount, of October hybrids that have gotten scheduled dates. You'll be good OP. Call Ford, confirm the status and that your order is there, and you'll get it sometime this year. With more and more Aug/Sep/Oct getting scheduled, knowing what Tim had expressed (bulk of orders are June/July), it makes me think in a few months you'll have a scheduled date. Good luck

I don't think this is outside the realm of possibilities. Every time I see a post from someone who says they "cancelled" their order I think to myself wow, that dealer must have absolutely loved that phone call/email. For every person that cancels their order there are probably ten people willing to pay an ADM of anywhere from 5-10k to buy a Maverick.

I would search cars.com for a maverick. My dealer told me 6 months and I said no way. I found exactly what I wanted on cars.com and went for it. I had to drive 6 hours to pick it up but worth it.

I've lurked this forum for months to get some insight into when my truck might be built and delivered and found it comforting I'm not the only one that has wondered just wtf is going on at Ford. Anyway, I finally called Ford corporate today to see if they had any status on the Maverick XLT Hybrid I ordered last October from a local dealer and which Ford had long ago confirmed via email. The Ford rep told me that parts delays were a problem but are now mostly resolved and it's now transportation from rail yards to dealers that is the major bottleneck. The Ford rep assured me that the truck will be built and delivered within the next few months and they will fill all confirmed orders. They told me to contact my dealer and get a few pieces of info to better determine where I stand in their allocation.

So, I call my dealer and am informed that they just received notice from Ford this morning that no more XLTs or Hybrids will be built this year if they are not already scheduled for production. WTF!! I told my sales rep what Ford had just told me this morning, which is 100% the opposite of what the dealer had just told me and they had no explanation. I plan to call Ford again tomorrow to see what they say in response to what my dealer told me.

My dealer has been keeping me posted on the status regularly and I have no reason to believe they are lying since my sales rep told me she had to make about 10 bad calls to other customers today.

I was hesitant to buy a Ford to begin with, so if it turns out Ford has indeed screwed us, I will never consider them again. What a cluster.

I would stop by the dealers and ask to see the Notice.

Just hate getting any run around and your situation is a great example of why someone would be angry…..I think part of the problem is Ford makes and dealers sell…..and most sales focus on getting the sale, not following up on questions that cannot be easily answered….not true for all sales, but enough to say. Point in case, perhaps the dealer should have made calls to Ford to see if the email received applied to all their orders…..hope your order gets build!

I love the my dealer told me stories. I would be more prone to believe a politician than I would a car salesman. Of course they're going to tell you that hoping that it leads into a "but I have this Ford Escape here available today!" Stop listening to the dealer and wait to see what happens. This is one of the more ridiculous "my dealer said" threads.

I will attest to OP,s comments as far as delays from rail yard to dealer, MY trucK has been sitting in Illinois for at least two weeks .I am in NE Florida .I am assuming the last leg of my trucks Journey is on a car carrier . My dealer is good ,you have to ask ,but when I do he immediately sends me a picture of the visibility report. the only change on it was from "gateway yard Illinois" to "Received at Junction point(CSX transportation) East St Louis IL. Whatever that is?

I had a similar scenario and Ford information was more accurate and precise than a salesperson. Pay attention to Ford as they will keep you informed of it being shipped, that's when you need to notify the dealership that Ford has shipped it and your waiting to know when you can get it.
