I fully understand the supply shortages, and the fact that my Hybrid Lariat 360 Lux Maverick has the hex on it due to all the bells and whistles. But what I don't understand, and what really raises my blood pressure, is when I see people post scheduling and delivery dates for the SAME configuration truck with order dates 1 to 2 months LATER than mine. What the heck is going on? Does Ford have a giant fish bowl of Hybrid Lariat 360 Lux orders and pull a few out ever couple of weeks? That's exactly what it feels like. That and the fact that they haven't sent ONE conciliatory email since my order confirmation on June 18th of last year. Thursdays come and go. I don't even check anymore.

It's your dealer and your dealer circumstances. While you may be at Priority 2, how many people at your dealership are also at priority 2 and ordered ahead of you? You could be #4 at your dealer still. Also, the person who just got a build date for your truck may be #1 at their dealer, even though they were 1-2 months behind you by order date.

Not all dealers get allocations each week. Some may be the first week, second week third or fourth week. Again, that plays into the circumstance. I'm not saying it's right... I'm saying that's what is going on.

Order priority really only maters on a dealer level. Every week dealers get reordered (for every vehicle line). So there is just some random chance as to where your dealer is in the Maverick scheduling line that week. If some option is used up by the time your dealers allocation gets looked at you will be skipped over. The older orders probably also get priority at a dealer level, but not sure how this relates to the overall scheduling?

I do think that Ford will concentrate on making sure as many of the early orders as possible get scheduled.

So some of this is just random chance. Not sure if that helps make you feel better or not! I ordered June 9th. I was priority 2 for months....and was also our dealership's first order, but the 3rd to schedule. Hold on, you're week will come!

It's actually a pretty easy process but time consuming. Whoever is in charge of production has some special equipment (below) in choosing which orders go into production. They normally do this on Wed morning a day before emails are sent out.

Here is what they use, and then add up the numbers to decide which one is next:

Dealer Allocation. Ford has stated they WANT to go to a customer order business model. They haven’t and it’s business as usual.

I could explain the Ford allotment system to you, but it would be easier to explain women to you.

Theres roughly 152 049 threads ranting about this and the common theme i’ve learned is something about dealer allocations, personal vendettas, voodoo, sexual identification, and the presence of green in cactus grey.

joking aside… the dealer allocation thing seems to be the most truthful. Theres a trending thread about it right now

Ford has an allocation system, GM has an allocation system, Hyundai, Toyota, Dodge, Honda all do. You can goto forums for their vehicles and see the exact same type of complaints. The only solution I know is to go buy a Tesla. It's a fault of the dealer distribution system.

Maybe, but I think it is more likely that they have a couple of drunk blindfolded monkeys throwing darts at the wall.

Once upon a time in our general work the salaried work force (Ford) was considering going union. So there were numerous meeting with HR and the magament staff. Bottom line nothing changed but the employees got to vent.

So all good, Management didn't care. But people felt better venting.
Much like here.

If it's any consolation, 99 percent of vehicles scheduled these last two weeks were hybrids and many of those were Lariat Lux packages. You're getting closer...

I think it’s both. They roll the dice to see which drunk monkey is handed the darts. (I need to get in touch with the monkeys…)

My dealer never has any answers. They’ve supposedly gone to their Ford contacts and always come up empty. I started out at a priority 19. After about 5 months I found out I was moved to a 15. At this rate i should probably will this truck to my grandson. I’ve read all the replies and it sounds like allocation is the problem. My issue is I don’t even know what question to ask my dealer as all this allocation stuff makes no sense to me. You seem to have a handle on it. What should I ask my dealer to check? Given all their strikeouts, I haven’t ruled out them being clueless yet. If you could craft me a good question that I could send to them I’d be very appreciative.
