So in August I order a Maverick and I get the email from Ford, until recently nothing at all. I started getting super impatient and I saw a dealer order Maverick pop up for sale at a dealership 14 miles away. So I talk to the salesman and he says that truck is a month out and Ford tracker had it getting there Feb, 18 despite its status as âin productionâ. I bought it there and started the loan stuff. Which got them to hold it for me. I fought with them hard to use my bank.
Fast forward 4 weeks and I just get the email that you guys talked about on this forum. It got pushed back until the 14th of March. The problem now is that since then, my original order now says âbuiltâ, and has an est arrival of March 4th. My original order was a carbon gray xlt, awd, with Lux and co-pilot. The one I agreed to buy is alto blue xlt, with fx4 and lux package and the special 17â rims.
I talked to my bank and they said we have the info and the loan wonât finalize until you sign the final paper when you pick the car up. And after getting off the phone with them the dealership called and asked me to sign one final thing for my bank. That part sounds like the bank called them and told them that I checked into it.
So what Iâm asking is if itâs dishonest to back out after agreeing to buy it. They did tell me it was built and on the way and it turns out Ford tracker was right and it still says âin productionâ while my original customer order from another dealer is built and shipped. Should I just wait em out and buy which ever one comes up first? What would you guys do.
