Just saw on HLN news that Ford Motor Company is requesting Dealerships to sell Mavericks at the MSRP. While they do not prevent dealerships from markups, Ford could "retaliate" by reducing the quantity of parts and other things I missed, to those dealerships that DO mark them up. Anyone saw this?

While this is true and definitely a good direction, I suspect it is only related to customer orders. I don't think they are going to be as strict with their stock inventory (which is very limited for the Maverick anyway and probably all sold at this point).

I ordered my Lariat on October 30, still waiting for a build date. My central California is hold8ng firm to the committed price with no additional mark up.

The articles I read regarding this issue only dealt with vehicle allocations only and not “parts”. It’s the auto sales issue they want to have control over.

You are certainly correct. Ford would prefer they not markup any, but are particularly concerned about what some dealers are doing to direct customer Retail orders.

There’s talk for shareholder benefit to pump the stock price up, and then there’s put your money where your mouth is. Ford has zero control over dealers charging more than msrp. What they do have control over is Allocation.

It’s really very simple. If a dealer charges a customer over msrp, don’t give them any more of that product line for the rest of the model year.

Do it, or don’t. But stop threatening and posturing.
