I originally was going the XL route, but ended up ordering the XLT. I agree with a lot of posters....the XLT interior is not that desirable. However, I like the wheels, cruise, and power adjustable mirrors in the XLT. So that, IMO, offsets the interior.
Curious do you feel those features offset the $4600 premium to get them?

I've flip-flopped, back and forth, between XL and XLT (always a hybrid with either trim...) = I'm going with the XL since I like the interior better and will match my Area 51 exterior paint...

I've driven my Jeep Wrangler Sport S which has the crank windows and adjust-with-your-fingers side mirrors -- I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've adjusted the passenger side mirror...

Same with the Jeep cruise control = never really use it since it's a bouncy-a$$ Jeep that is a demon at fast highway speeds...

Finally, I look forward to the steelies (just for a change) -- I do want to "semi-quickly" swap the tires over to Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws

My only options are the hitch ($100) + full spare ($115) + inverter ($150) --> all of this for under $22K MSRP and I'll get 40mpg in the Houston city traffic.

XL order all the way. Can’t see putting Cadillac options in a truck, just my preference. This is why they don’t make actual work trucks anymore at a reasonable price point. People have to have it all. My 09 ranger had roll up windows, drum brakes and manual locks. Best truck I ever had.

I was dead set on an XL. I drive a 95 B2300 around everywhere and the only option it has is AC. I'm talking vinyl seat , no tilt , rubber floors, no sliding glass..nothing..An XL would be an upgrade for me😂. That being said , one stinking thing got me..the rear seats. I have kids who have to have drinks constantly. I know you can get a cupholder for the center console "bracket"..but I really wanted the fold down cup holders. Oh well. Still 24 and some change for a new truck..I'll take it..

That's what I meant, sorry.
No problem.
I was actually surprised with the list of 'extras' you get with the XLT over the XL for $2,100.

See, I felt like there weren't enough "upgrades" for the $2100 up charge, but I guess everyone values things differently.

XL for the colour of the interior and not needing or wanting any of the XLT features.

Options I added to the XL are
Moonroof
Tow hitch
400W plug in rear
Sliding rear window
Co-Pilot 360 mainly to get the power mirrors

I think I have said this before, but I will get used to not having cruise control, as I left Texas' wide open spaces and now live in Maryland, with a turn in the road every 50 yards. As for the steelies, I have had British sports cars all my life, with wire wheels, so these steelies are dying and going to heaven as far as I am concerned.

My only "concern" is the touch screen. I am a "basic flip-phone" guy, and have no idea how to operate the touch screen.

I am confused about one thing. It looks to me like the bed has a nice plastic liner. Yet, a lot of the forum guys are talking about a "spray liner." What is that all about? Thanks in advance.
The spay in liner is delaying builds so I hear

When you compare the XL and XLT trim you should not compare just the price difference at purchase.
  1. The XL trim level will be less desirable than XLT at resale.
  2. A used XLT will sell for more reducing if not even eliminating the additional $2285 asked as new.
  3. All this putting aside the many options in XLT (for me as well the cruise control was a must..)
  4. Probably even the lease of XL and XLT will show a minimal $ difference
  5. I see the XL trim as something purchased by a fleet
  6. Years from now a savvy customer may buy it at a larger discount from a dealer that wants to move it from the lot.
I am writing this not to antagonize XL trim buyers; it is going to be just fine with the XL. I just hope to bring some points as there is still time to upgrade before scheduling.
I am in Manhattan where cruise control is useless. I also don't buy vehicles for resale value. You will never recoup even a fraction of your options cost layout. I suggest buying a vehicle based on what you need and not what someone else will want when you resell it.

I had an XL order then switch to XLT since after I optioned my XL it came too close to an XLT. But after seeing the inside of an XL finally, I have the urge to go back.

I wonder how disatisfied will I be if I spec my XL close to bare minimum? I'm keeping the truck for 10+ years (at least that's the plan), never needed cruise control, have other cars with all the bells and whistles, will be driving this everyday. As far as the XL spec, I'm thinking just the bed in spray liner.

Initially I had a Co Pilot, tonneau roll up hard, tow hitch, outlet, and floor mats.
The spray in bedliner will slow your build scheduling. Do it aftermarket.

I am swapping to the Falkens also . Are you going to the 245s or 235s?
