Yeah, i didnt care about the homelink. I have a remoted and a garage door opener key pad.

I just reordered one from Kia and actually got an email stating they want me to send my VIN # before shipping. I asked why does that matter?
Some back and forth a bit and i finally told them i have a project car and if it does not work i don't care and will use as a standard mirror. It was weird, like they didn't want to sell to me without a Kia VIN. I will post if i get a shipping confirmation.

Kia Optima VINs are easy to come by. Just search for units for sale.

As far as the mirror is concerned just unscrew it and slide up. Be sure you have a panel popper set to remove the black shroud.

I just quick tapped ground on the mirror to ground in the overhead lights (black to black) Then tapped the other two from the mirror to the yellow/green 12v from the overhead lights.

Is the yellow/green wire hot all the time?

No. The power to the mirror turns off about 5-10 mins after the trucks off.
