Did my pre-order in June for a hybrid at Mall of Georgia, unfortunately didn't realize they did it for the Ecoboost , well I got it in October picked it up 10 days later (working out of state), very happy with it, the following week (Oct 15) I reserved another truck (hybrid).
Keep in mind that on my first order I received notification, time frame all the notification.
On the second order I never received any notifications, only a call that my hybrid arrived (January Monday 24th), sounds great right?
Went to the dealer Monday evening to do a receive my Eco and buy the hybrid.
Problem started when the financing dept. said that the bank wants to see proof of pay stub to do the loan on the second truck, I advised them
that my employment hasn't changed since the last 6 months and they should process it the same way (I'm self employed), if it went thru the first time and I have been making my payments what is the issue? I was told that the bank was looking for a 15% when I'm paying now 9%, I declined that %.
Nothing couldn't be done that night and the finance manager at Mall of Georgia , Mr. Dragos, said he will talk to the bank manager in the morning to take care of it, since bank managers weren't available at night.
On Tuesday I didn't get any call back from Mall of Georgia, called the salesman Eliot (2:30pm) who was the person taking care of my account to see what's the issue, he was off that day and also the finance manager.
Called Today Wednesday and Eliot said that the bank wants paystubs to process the loan, back and forth thru tex after an hour I said I'll pass bye Thursday morning (planning to pay cash).
Then he tells me that since the bank declined they sold the truck to some one else??????
I asked him why didn't they advise me of them selling the hybrid truck and reminded him that I have a deposit on the truck, his reply was 3-5 business days to receive the refund.
I know what they did, the first truck could sit at the dealer for 10 days and the 2nd couldn't sit for 2 days?
I am sure they profit 6-8K more to the other customer.
Spoke to a lawyer and advised its not worth the time or. $$ to pursue legally.
Word to the wise, be careful with
Mall of Georgia and there ilegal practice to get higher $$ revenue.

You said you declined sounds like miscommunication of you declining the financing and not the truck. These things sell instantly so soon as you declined it wouldn’t have taken long to find another buyer. Sounds like it’s your fault a little, self employed or not showing proof of income is pretty standard especially with a second vehicle purchase.

I always walk in with my own financing from my credit union first. I then give the dealer a chance to beat the terms. That way, if the run into any financing issues or try to pull any shenanigans, I already have an approved loan. I am so sorry about your experience. I feel awful for the situation.

They need to validate your debt to income ratio which changed the moment you financed that other car. What's up with these interest rates though? Brutal.

No miss communication, they were to get back to me, never did, sure in a rush to sell without advising me.

Idk if Mall of Georgia Kia is the same owner as the Ford one but before I was looking at getting the Maverick I was looking at a Kia Stinger and a K5. They wanted a 7500 dollar mark up on the K5. I didn't even bother to ask about the Stinger. 7500 mark up on a Kia...lol

I would definitely if leaving a deposit have in writing that they can not sell the vehicle for X amount of days, that's what a lawyer advised me.

Just to give an update on my situation.
Talked to the bank that asked for paystub, it seems the bank didn't ask for anything regarding paystubs they stated " its up to the dealership to ask for more info or higher % rate"
Already got someone involved at the Mall of Georgia and have corporate office of Ford involved.
Will followup

If your interest rate was 9% on the EB.. it means one of two things. You're really bad at car buying, or you have serious credit issues. It does not surprise me that to buy the second truck they'd want to look at finances.

Shitty situation. Perhaps you should have declined delivery of the EB and waited for the hybrid?
