Thanks for the tip. My maverick is in production right now expected delivery February 18, I went ahead and bought one because they’re on clearance. If you look on Amazon or eBay they want $200 for one of these, and when it comes in if it doesn’t work, well I’ve wasted $20 plenty times before.

I ordered one as well. Hopefully the mount will work out and it doesn’t interfere with the camera. I’ll keep an eye on this thread for updates on installs.

Just purchased this for under $20 for anyone else interested. This seems to be a pretty generic gentex mirror that comes standard on numerous vehicles. Auto-dimming, homelink, compass.

I figure this is like most other OE parts: No matter what site/dealer you order from, it ultimately comes from the same regional or national parts warehouse, and maybe orders after all inventory was consumed were canceled? Mine has not been canceled (yet).

In my boredom, I started checking around:
This mirror was last used as OE in a 2015 Kia Optima (per the listing)
Kia started offering 10/100K warranties in 2008
That means parts for 2015 Kia Optimas should be available to at least 2025.
But those parts don't have to be the identical part.
They can use any compatible part either a newer model/version or an aftermarket part.
Kia does offer a HL/Compass/AutoDim mirror under other part numbers, for example: D5062-ADU00 which is for the 2016 to 2018 Optima, but it costs a bit more at over $200.

It could be that they just wanted to empty lame stock from the parts warehouse and maybe some of us got lucky?

This all sounds too good to be true.

Think about it,. This auto dim mirror with built in Homelink is cheaper than a mini Genie garage door opener that I have on the visor if my 2021 Rogue right now. It works fine.

I might use my brother's Optima VIN and order one.

I did the install in my 2013 Accord EX-L which was a dedicated unit that fit in a blank spot ahead of the dome lights. I tapped into the dome light wiring with snap fit connectors. Easy.

WHY DO AUTO MANUFACTURERS CONSIDER HOMELINK A HIGH END LUXURY ITEM IN 2022?
