How Long After Modules Populated Did You Get “Built” Notification?

Mine populated on 12/16 but is still sitting at "In Production" and on Chip Hold as of 12/27.

How did you discover you're on Chip Hold? Is that on the Vehicle Visibility Report? And, if so, where?

Currently 12/26 it’s change two or three times.

The date at the bottom of your sticker updates once per week. It doesn't mean anything. The last time it updates is after your final purchase paperwork clears. It would be nice if they included a specific update next to it, about once per week.

Modules populated today! Dealer says our truck "has been produced." I wish he had used the word "built" but it's definitely progress.

13 February 2022 (which is a Sunday). If Service can plan to check it over and add a few accessories that Monday, we might be able to pick up our hot pepper red hybrid on Valentine's Day. It's later even than I was bracing myself for, but it's progress.

Thank you so much. Our salesguy told us today that our status is "Produced" and I wondered what that meant. Maybe this is the week they're expecting the Chips to arrive. Hope so.

My modules were populated overnight and the Maverick was declared built by Ford late this afternoon.

So, I got our VVR and don't see the Microchip issue mentioned. I wonder if it's something specific to the Ecoboost (ours is a Hybrid) or something in a package you chose that we didn't. I wish we could put all those sort of stats together to better understand the waiting.

The chip shortage issue affected all Maverick lines and both EcoBoost and Hybrid as well as the Bronco Sport line. Even though all of my modules show as active, the Visibility Report still shows as chip hold. Unfortunately, Ford is not coming forward readily with any information as to exactly what module or part is causing the hold status. The other issue that you might have is if you got a Luxury package that gets the spray in bed liner. If so, then yours will get shipped off site for it to be installed and then sent back to the factory for shipping. Hopefully yours will show a "Built" status by the end of the week.

Interesting. I've heard others say that the spray-in bedliner (SIBL) happens after the truck is "Produced." But our salesguy told me his manager said the SIBL happens during Body Shop. I wonder if they know what they're talking about.

Yes, if the vehicle report status says "Built" then the spray in bed liner was installed. If you look at your vehicle visibility report once you get the "Built" notification you will see a line on it that says "sent to body shop" after the "Produced" line. That is when it was sent to get the SIBL done.

There are actually two "Body Shop" entries on the vehicle visibility report. The first one is when the factory actually stamps, assembles, and paints the body before it goes to final assembly. The second time that "Body Shop" appears is after it leaves the trim line (final assembly line) to have any extra added options added. This part of the build can take up to two weeks to complete depending on what needs to be done.

Today, after placing my order on 06/10/2021 and waiting exactly one month after my Lariat deluxe was produced on 12/06 and then placed on a chip hold, I finally received my "Built" email from Ford. I received an estimated delivery date of 02/06/2022 (I have to play the lottery with all of the xx/06 dates in there) to my dealer. Now I just wait for the "Shipped" email and wait a little longer.

Wife is going to get her Birthday, then Christmas, and now Valentine's Day present finally!!!




UPDATE: Today I received my "Shipped" email from Ford. I called my salesrep and received my rail car number. As of this afternoon 01/07/2022, it is in Nogales, AZ on the Union Pacific awaiting clearance from US Customs to begin is final trek eastward.

On 01/11/22 the rail car arrived at Gateway Yard in East St.Louis, Illinois for transfer to Norfolk Southern for its final trek eastward. It's down to about a week left before it makes it to the dealership.
