Crazy going under 40 for mpg. The first 2.8 miles I kept it at 20 mph for 220 mpg, then increased speed to 35ish and for 4.8 miles avg 85.3 mpg, when I got back home, I had gone 9.3 miles using 6.5 miles on electric and for an avg mpg of 53.9 mpg. Yeah...so I like playing.....

My dad's Chevy avalanche could reset the computer going down a hill and get it to say 99mpg. I'm more interested in the average over several tanks

ummm...again....NOT going down hill.....and of course it won't be nearly this low "over several tanks"....I was going 20-35 mph along the lake...and most of the miles were on "electric"....or the battery.

I never said you were and I wasn't trying to be inflammatory. I'm excited to see what my hybrid can do, too.... When it gets here.

Can't imagine what it will get it to read going down hill on the Blue Ridge Parkway for about 10 miles. Lol I was able to get my Honda Fit to read over 100 mpg.

PS-I hope everyone knows I'm not expecting that on a regular basis.

Nice!

Easily 80-90% of my regular miles are <40mph so I'm really excited to see what my MPG shakes out to in the end.

I have a little Prius C....When I travel from Indiana to Florida (3-4 times each year). I always stop at Monteagle off of I-24 in Tennessee and fill up....reset the gauge and then get back on I-24 and with that long 5% downgrade, I hit 99.9 mpg (it wont go any higher) at the bottom, that is about a 7 mile downhill grade. Little car on cruise control, then goes to Adel Georgia, almost 400 miles and I stop to fill up and it has used 7.8-8.0 gallons (doing 76-78mph average). If I would keep it off cruise control, it would even get better mileage. On the Prius C cruise control, the gas engine never shuts off, even going down hill-cruise keeps the engine on; however, if I turn off the cruise and keep it at 76-78mph, easing up on the trottle on the downhills, the gas engine does turn off (per my hybrid screen).
I want a Maverick, but refuse to order one (have to wait to August now to order an Hybrid) without seeing one and test driving one and none of the dealerships around Louisville Ky metro area has one.
