Congrats on payment free and partly retired. Grew up a farm. Dad and grandpa would say if it's financed you're working for the bank's pocket. None of the vehicles, tractors, equipment was financed. If we couldn't pay cash, keep running the old stuff.

Congrats! I still owe on my truck and house. I may pay it off with my COLA check this year. We retired in 2020 and I love it. I play video games, too many if you ask my wife. I went back and worked part time for a couple of years, but I am finished, now.

I am one of those fortunate ones, to have made my final payment on picking Pup's up..
On the Retirement side, I am still pondering... 🤔
BUT! I was able to haggle for "Four Day" work weeks... And that's been 22 months now.
Still hard to walk away from the $$$ I make in only 32 hours and three day weekends are Great..

Having My 🍰 and eating it too...

Outstanding !

I officially retired when I was 57,
That lasted three months.
I needed to work to stay sane. Been part time ever since.

Sitting is the new smoking,
Sitting in a recliner is a practice session for a coffin.
The grind is over, treat yourself good.
Don’t sit down and start watching TV as it will rot your brain and make you fat and soft.

The grim reaper is after you, make him suffer.

Want to be healthy ? Want to age well ?

Check out Gary Brecka.
Most everything doctors do to us is wrong.

I’m med free at 67 and feel like I’m thirty.
Excellent advice. That's one reason I didn't want to fully retire even @ 70.

I will definitely miss the $$ from averaging 52 hours per week since COVID.

9,200 miles, still essentially brand new! I bet you would have no problem selling it back the dealer if you so chose. I have a 90-mile round trip commute to work, that's one of the reasons I didn't trade in my 2017 Focus, and besides it had about 190,000 miles when my Maverick arrived at the dealer so I wouldn't have gotten much for the trade. I only drive the Mav on weekends or when I have a day off from work.

A '69 red or black Boss 429 is my dream car, and unless I win the lottery it remains just a dream especially after seeing the prices they command on Mecum. I wouldn't mind a '69 Mach I 428 CJ with a shaker scoop either!

I love the 69 Mustangs, my favorite being the Boss 302. Got married in 72, drove away in our 69 Mach I, though with a 351 2bbl & no A/C in SC in August...so no longer have the 69, but do still have my bride!

I made a deal like that. I was scheduled to retire at the end of 2022, and had already ordered my 2023 Maverick, since I was losing my company car. Around Thanksgiving, they asked me to stay on for another 6 months, and offered a $10K bonus if I stayed until June 30th. I countered and requested to drop down to a 3-day work week, which they agreed to. My Maverick showed up in January, so I stashed it in my sisters garage until I needed it.
