Happened again to me, found my way out after a few attempts, but it shoudn't require some secret sequencing of ignition, braking, touch pressure on the gear shift, etc.
Well - to some extent we all know there has always been a very known sequencing of brake on, ignition Start, turn gear shift, release brake.
That better not be a secret to a driver.

And most drivers learn if steering wheel was cocked and got locked, that may prevent a step in there until held off the stop.

Nothing changed on this truck regarding all those things.

And the fact there are sensors & switches to verify those steps is nothing new either - they or the wiring could always flake out.

What modern vehicles add is the sensors going to a computer module that controls the switch. And it does other things with that knowledge.
And the sensor/switch/relay/wiring may be just fine - but the computer flaked out.

Sooner that is recognized - sooner someone may notice details of the steps that make it happen - that can be duplicated by a tech. That's almost required.
Just in case it's not the computer itself.
Which can happen.

Your being kind to the manufacturer on this anomaly of sequencing something as fundamental as getting in a vehicle and driving it. Far too unfriendly to new drivers in my humble opinion.

Stuck in park issue is an unknown right now - there is no sequence to get out of it, at least none anyone found.
So far it's just been resetting the system by turnoff it sounds like, for the few times it's happened.

If you mean the sequencing of what I mentioned - that's been around for decades.
As well as the ability for anything in that sequence to break.

If you think you found a sequence to cause it and duplicate it - then you could likely get a fix.

I'm pretty sure I could attempt to turn the ignition to Start while hitting the brake and trying to turn the shift dial all at the same moment - and have a fail.
Not talking that kind of sequence.
