Corner of rear black plastic bumper....

Someone backed into that corner of the bumper today. It was pushed in about 3 inches. Tried to pop it out using a the end of a 2x2 x 15" piece of wood. Got it out, except it is visible in not matching the curve on the other side of the bumper. Can't and don't want to think how much that whole back bumper assembly would cost. So today, my truck just depreciated.

There's nothing structural under there. My small dent guy used a heat gun and it came right out, after l hit a small boulder backing up and it looked like it was dented by a lead soccer ball. I was amazed and it took all of 10 minutes. That and some armerall type product to disquise the small scuffs. Amazing.

I saw your comment after my pretty good job at using a sculpted piece of wood to pound it out, and then the heat gun, I call it acceptable. My wife can't tell the difference, but then she never noticed how it was kicked? or backed into in the first place.

Honestly if the plastic already mostly popped back out, I’d leave it alone for a bit before replacing the whole bumper. Trucks are supposed to get scars anyway lol. A heat gun and patience might help reshape it closer without spending stupid money immediately.
