Same. I've had full-size trucks and started "right-sizing" several years ago. Landed on a midsize Nissan Frontier and now I'm just waiting for a preowned Maverick hybrid AWD 4k tow to hit the market.Couldn't agree more with why I chose a 26 hybrid with AWD and 4K. Had a Ram 1500 which I loved but I wasn't using it's capability often enough to justify the cost of gas every month when it was mainly used to go from work and back. Also, realized one day that I was the only one in the vehicle 95% of the time.
Found a Maverick that fit the bill and cut my monthly gas cost in half easily, if not a little more.
My F-250s had the 8' bed. I always got the long bed for the bigger fuel tank. I could count on one hand the number of times that having an 8' bed came in handy in a year. And for that little usage, I'd rather just rent a U-haul trailer and be able to tow more weight than the F-250 could carry in its bed anyway.I've had several trucks over the years with a standard sized bed, and I hardly ever needed all that room. With the Mav's flex bed, even large items can be accommodated.
Some may view it as a compromise, but I don't.
Now that I think of it, a Maverick hybrid probably gets better cruising range than my F-250 with the 40-something-gallon fuel tank did. So I could drive further in the Maverick and be able to park in a regular residential garage.
Might have to keep looking then cuz the Maverick is made in Mexico.Wanted a US made Hybrid AWD that could cover/secure hauled items in the bed, good traction in winter, provide 4 doors, still get great mileage
