I was amazed he had no running boards visible or drop down. He must carry some steps in the bed for people other than himself. Hopefully the tailgate has some drop down steps to get into the bed to get the steps to get in the truck. I am so confused!!:ROFLMAO:
It’s not for use — just for show. It looks like he can’t se the street 50‘ in front. Silly.

A couple of days ago, I was at CostCo with my Maverick. So nice being able to load boxes of stuff into the bed without having to lift them so high!

Parked right next to me was one of those big ol' "Bubba" trucks with oversized-wheels and tires, plus a fairly substantial lift. The drive shaft looked like it was at about a 30º angle, which cannot be good for the U-joints... The door handle was above my eye-level when I was sitting in the Maverick. There were running boards installed that hung down at least a foot below the rocker panels - still high enough I would NOT have been able to step up onto them.

Just before I pulled out, the driver showed up and proceeded to load up his groceries. He was clearly struggling to lift several boxes of food, etc. into the bed without a ladder. I stuck around (pretending to wait for my wife) so I could watch the show as he tried to get into the cab... It was definitely worth the wait to see him barely be able to reach the door handle, then have to use a grab handle he installed on the side of the seat frame to help him jump up onto the running board so he could get in... I almost started laughing because my mind was picturing him trying that with mud-covered boots out in the "wild"...

I would have taken pictures, but he kept sneering at me with look like he was thinking "Get a real truck, Bubba!" Meanwhile, I'm sitting there thinking "I'm so glad I've got a truck that is actually useable!"

To each his own, as they say...

I'm convinced that so many guys drive trucks like that for the approval of others and not because they actually think the truck is useful.

As I often tell my kids when they criticize old Dad for his outfit, hair style, etc. "I'm so glad I don't have to live my life for the approval of others."

Be comfortable in your own skin. If you like the Maverick, drive it! If you like a monster truck, drive it! Personally, I love my Maverick and my Honda ADV 150 scooter. I may not drive a "real truck" or "real motorcycle," but I can get in/out on/off without a ladder and get great fuel economy.

And my wife still likes me too!

I realize there have been many photos of Mavs parked next to bigger rigs. However, when I saw this Ram truck I could not resist parking my Mav next to it for a picture. This Ram was as big as I have ever seen. My cab was at the top of his tailgate/box and the hood on the Mav could almost go under his frame. The Ram was a beautiful truck but WAY more than I need. The driver was a young black man from Texas and we laughed as he took pictures also. He had seen only one Maverick up close. Guess things really are bigger in Texas..... well not all things!!

I have 8K miles on my EB; no problems. 30.2 mpg, 70% highway and almost always in Eco mode. Love it!!

Click on photo to enlarge it a bit.

This is beyond stupid. I try not to judge people's taste in vehicles, but when you endanger other people on the road or parking lot, that's a no go.

Some kid or granny can cross in front or back of that thing and the driver would never see them.

Having lived overseas where scooters were more common, I think the ADV150 is really slick. But I've got a serious itch for the Honda Trail 125... The first motorcycle I ever rode was a Yamaha 125cc "trail bike" similar to this, and the first motorcycle I owned was a Honda CL175 - just slightly bigger than the Trail 125, but similarly styled (and RED). So many memories and such a perfect size for putting around.

Yes the trail is a nice bike but like you said more for putting around. Honestly the ADV 150 is more refined and I do a lot of WOT riding cruising at 60 mph. I'm not sure the Trail would go more than 50.

Still it's a neat little bike built on a classic platform.

If Honda would bring the ADV 300 to the States I'd be thrilled.

omg that RAM screams compensation. I live in Montana - I see them all the time. Some serve a purpose, mainly towing and farm use. Others, like the one in the picture, I can paint a 99% accurate picture of the driver without needing any description.

I'll start with bedazzled bootcut jeans and a patch hat...

True, but a head-on would be the end for the Maverick and its operator, ME!!:(
Highly unlikely. Since it is jacked so high up, the ram driver is more likely to suffer serious injury or death in an accident. Guarantee he's rolling over at least once in a head on.

Cars already have a tendency to act like ping pong balls in accidents but something tall like a lifted truck is a very unstable ping pong, and it will take it's energy with it instead of forcing it all into the maverick it hit.
