Correct, if the dealer puts in the order for a customer as a retail (stock order) then they will be over looked if there are retail orders in there. Ford is not scheduling stock orders until they get the custom orders fulfilled.
Tim,

I finally figured out that I want a hybrid. Currently have a 2019 Ranger lease expiring 8/31/22. If figure I could keep and extend until I can get a 2023 hybrid delivered next fall. Or, I could try to tap the positive equity I believe I have in the Ranger and sell it to my local dealer with the crazy thought of ordering a 2022 Maverick EB and trading it for the hybrid in fall of 2022. Do you believe the used car market will still be in high demand a year from now? Would this be financial suicide or could the depreciation hit not be too bad?

Thanks,
Eric

I asked the same question in another thread. Changed my color today from Area 51 to Alto Blue. Also removed my tonneau cover after seeing the constraints list. Thank you for the tips!

Oh, wow, not sure I'm that smart to be able to tell you that, lol. I think the used car market will be good through 2022 but it's just a guess.

Thanks Tim. I'm a gamble at heart. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I am considering rolling the dice and would be happy to not take a huge loss (over 20%) on the trade.

I'm not changing anything. I got in under the wire 11/15 and expect to get a 2023 model. Maybe by then they'll work all the bugs out. I see some new owners reporting issues because thier pumping these things out so fast. Make sure to take a flashlight and check everything at the dealership before accepting the truck. I'm not even sure if most dealerships do any inspection. Just a quick wash.

1. If you got a 2022 order, it will be a 2022. That's why they close hybrid orders off, so they could get them all built.
2. Our PDI (Pre- Delivery Inspection) guy is very, very thorough. He marks any damage and even does a short (1-2 miles) test drive to make sure everything is correct. Not all dealers do, so good to point out.

Is there a new constraints list out? Last one out was months ago.

How far in can you make changes? Can you make changes such as color or options up until your Maverick gets scheduled for production or, for instance if you wanted to change color, would a whole new order have to be initiated and wait time have to start all over?

Changes can be made up until it schedules. You don't need a new order to change colors.

Not yet. Last wholesale was beginning of November for November and December. Next constraint will be beginning of January.

sadly it’ll sell, even with that markup, it’s still enough value in its price category that someone will buy it. I compare this to a smaller SUV inside but with the truck bed equates to the cargo on a much bigger suv which I was originally thinking about (think Pathfinder/highlander).

I almost went Hybrid highlander but just couldn’t for that price, it made no sense. Mav was just right size/specs and the price sweetened the deal.

I was going off the November one, they didnt release one for December unfortunately. Either way I plan on now ordering the Tonneau Cover when its confirmed that my truck is built.

I’m sticking with the cover and I have Lux package,Tow and mud flaps and floor mats as well. I ordered 9/18 and figure maybe a February build.. I’m buying what I want and I’m willing to wait for it. I’ve watched all the constraints and figure if people keep dropping stuff that leaves more for me… at least I’m hoping so.

After watching about half of the video, I gave up. More confused now than ever. This whole thing is just one BIG Cluster **ck. Sorry that I am not the biggest fanboy, I am a realist. Next week I am going looking for something different. Assuming I buy something else, I will flip the Maverick if that makes sense when it comes in.
If you have received an email from Ford stating "YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN CONFIRMED" then you should have no worries. If not you should contact Ford with your Order Code, Sales Code from your DORA and see if they can see your order.

Tim states in his current video that only 14 and 17 percent of orders with LUX packages are getting scheduled.
Omg...I give up on this.
