Nothing is going to come out that actually does anything. The 2.5L engine operates almost like a generator. Thermal efficiency is the goal. So no air intake, exhaust mods, etc are going to do anything to get your more performance.

What would get you quicker acceleration is Motor 2 improvements. Things like a more powerful motor controller than can send more current which equates to more torque. That's not something that is easily done and you likely will not see that ever done with a Maverick. The battery would also have to be able to handle the increased current load.

Example. Nissan Leafs are slow as shit but their motors are actually "detuned" via weak ass controllers and batteries. Put a more powerful controller and battery connected to a Leaf motor and you've got yourself a quick ride.

This CRX is running a custom higher amp controller.

Torque gets you moving from a stop, and the Hybrid has more torque off the line than the 2.0 EB. The traction motor adds 170 ft/lbs of torque from a stop, if I'm recalling what I read. (Total torque with the ICE & Traction Motor is something like 310 ft/lbs).

That's sort of like having a diesel, or a 70s/80s V8, where an Impala for instance made 145-160HP, but 275 Ft/Lbs of torque.

How about a K & N air filter
Why do you want him to ruin his engine with fine particulate matter. Those things do nothing for performance because air flow is controlled by the Mass Air Flow Sensor not the air filter.

Easily merged several times onto busy interstates today in my Hybrid vehicle, the power gauge never was more than midway in the power zone on the dial.

Forgive me if this has been asked, and for not knowing but...

If I order the hybrid, and I'm not happy with the acceleration, or overall power, are there mods that can be done to make this more powerful? I'm not looking to spend tens of thousands on modifications, or an engine swap, but I know you can tune the ecoboost...
Don't worry B Happy

There seems to be two barriers to speeding up the Maverick, as I, a non-specialist, see it.

1. Hybrids are very much computer dependent . Futzing around with components, speeding them up, will play havok with the computer, and messing with the computer is probably a one way ticket to warranty voided town.

2. My understanding is that the Atkinson engine in the Maverick is kind of wonky from a mechanical perspective. It has variable pressure and is engineered to efficiently burn fuel, very much at the expense of power (Likely one of the reasons why its so low powered compared to other engines with its displacement). I suspect the very mechanisms that make the Atkinson ideal for a hybrid motor make it very unideal for performance modification.

Reviewers have done unofficial clocking of the Maverick's acceleration - high 6/low 7 for the Ecoboost, high 7/low 8 for the Hybrid as I recall. Both will merge just fine - I guarantee my Impala is doing worse than both but I'm not dying on the high way. I suggest you make your choice based on those numbers and not guess at future mods being made available.

EDIT: Also...

I did a quick google search for how to speed a Prius up and the internet said modify the suspension and fuck all else, so there's that.
I still don't know what's wrong with a 191 horsepower

Neither am I. But I still like to be able to merge into traffic, or pass a semi-truck on the highway.
I took delivery Wednesday of the hybrid and I don’t have any concerns about merging onto the freeway..I’m I haven’t driven any roads where one would need to pass though.

If reverse in the Hybird is traction motor only will it have enough power to back a heavy trailer up a hill?

Yes, at low speeds. Low speed does not take a lot of horsepower, just torque, which the traction motor has plenty of.

Yes. The traction motor can produce about 120hp so it will have no problem with any reversing scenario. Ford has said it can. Reviewers have tested it.

My 15 SOUL+ only has 160 hp and I haven’t had any issues with lack of power in the 6 years I’ve owned it. I don’t think the hybrid would have any issues.

I can 100% guarantee that our Leaf is faster than any Maverick on the road. My wife just humiliated a Maserati convertible on a freeway on-ramp last week... in Eco mode... and he was really trying to get in front of us.
From 0-15mph, perhaps.
