I received and installed the Redline Tuning Elite Gas Hood Shocks today. I’m am extremely happy with the quality of the product, installation instructions and the way they performed. The open position of the hood is now a few inches more than the prop rod open position which is great, this product has definitely exceeded my expectations…

Just wondering
In this modern cars with all the technology... do you guys often work in the engine bay? Are you guys popping the hood 3-4 times a day/week?

No hurts, just wondering
I'm an old fart, I let the dealer work in my cars

Speaking for myself I never do much of anything under the hood although I never liked the prop rods and having to support the hood while putting the prop rod in place. My brother popped the hood latch in his Maverick and forgot he did it and got distracted and took off down the road and the hood opened and crashed against his windshield it wasn’t pretty so these for me are just another layer of safety and protection these may not keep the hood from opening in that situation but may prevent a disaster 👍

I like them for when checking fluids, cleaning under the hood there’s nothing in my way and the convenience.. first vehicle I ever had in my old life that had a stupid hood prop.

I just installed my Red Line Hood shocks Saturday. I like. They came with my 2020 Ranger but I put them on my 1999 Tacoma that I got rid of for my 2026 Maverick Lariat. Great Product!!!

I was very surprised the first time I opened the hood on my 1950 Shoebox and it has a prop rod. Only car in my stable with one.
