Ya - that's real "Ford Tough" if the Ford tech saw some scrapes and said damaged enough to need replacement first.so, did you put a jack stand under the control arms? that's an interesting observation by the second shop.

What do you plan to do with the ammo? The dealership isn't going to admit they were wrong, they aren't going to compensate you, it's just going to waste your time and energy.Seems that it is quite expensive to replace the axle if I paid out of pocket but warranty covered it and now I have the ammo to go to the first dealership I went to claiming I had a bent control arm and axle. FYI there is no shaking or problems with the new axles and the vehicle tracks straight and true

$235.00 for a bum diagnostic fee sorry that pisses me offWhat do you plan to do with the ammo? The dealership isn't going to admit they were wrong, they aren't going to compensate you, it's just going to waste your time and energy.
Your truck was fixed for $58. I would take the W and get on with enjoying your Maverick.
Did you get a refund from the original dealership? How did this end up?$235.00 for a bum diagnostic fee sorry that pisses me off
I called Ford and they came an picked up the truck, took it for a test drive on the way to the local dealership and felt the issue. On the lift they saw a torn boot and both shafts vibrating. They replaced both and brought the truck back the next day once they had the new parts in. Happy with the process and no charge for the pickup since I was within 15 miles of their site.I have a 23 Lariat AWD 4K 2.0LT and just noticed the last week or two vibrations when accelerating at half throttle. It's pretty noticeable at 55 when applying throttle. Since I use regular gas I tried a full tank of premium just to make sure I was not having retarded timing issues or engine misfires even though I was pretty sure the engine was not the issue. Have 33.5K on it since bought on July 23 and the tires still have good tread and had no vibratins up to this point. I've had many other cars and replaced CV axles on many of them myself but never had one go out so early esp. on a truck that I do not push hard. Hopefully they replace both. I actually bought the Ford extended warranty since I had an Escape once that had front drivesaft issues too. Hopefully it is a short repair time.
What Ford corporate number did you use to initiate the service?I called Ford and they came an picked up the truck, took it for a test drive on the way to the local dealership and felt the issue. this was clearly a dealership doing the test driving and picking up, not Ford Motor Company.I called Ford and they came an picked up the truck, took it for a test drive on the way to the local dealership and felt the issue.
