I'd be embarrassed to tell you how much I'd be willing to pay for a really nice interior.
No manufacturer is going to market a car in the economy segment with a cost is no object interior.
Go to a custom shop, or keep dreaming.

We are different,
I buy meat, I like beef, I need 1.6 grams of protein per kilo of body weight.
About 112 grams a day.
I learn something new everyday.
When you look down, the scale reads somewhere in the neighborhood of 154 pounds.
I would like to see that number ! ;)

Losing fifty pounds was the hardest thing I ever did.

I would buy and happily drive a buy here pay here used car, or fix up a beater before I’d deny myself good nourishment.

Screw the Maverick, my Back up car is a perfectly running piece of shit 2004 escape with 229,000 miles. It’s trust worthy because I know how to keep it running.
I’d be just fine without the Maverick.

My health comes first.
perhaps you overreacted to my post, right now I am in no position to go "carnivore" when things around here change a bit,I will at least try "Paleo" by your post I assume you have lot of Cherokee in your blood I have a smidgen of Sioux( perhaps that's why I respect nature so much) the scot-irish part of me can get me in trouble at least it gives me a love for things technical,my wife rules the roost and she is morbidly obese( and a hoarder) her cooking involves mostly carb rich things and she is not going to change till the bitter end. at least the Maverick( even pulled a Metro up the hill last night, till I can afford an EV the Maverick stays.

I went cold turkey on the tobacco, found out later the"smokeless" tobacco was adulterated with ammonia to make it more addictive( no mouth sores since) and a hit of that garbage gave you 20 times the nicotine of a cigarette, the sleep apnea was really bad when I chewed, found out later the nicotine affects the "vagus" nerve. back to the pickup thread.

Best way to buy any EV is used. Resale values tank fast the first 3 years. Most lose 40-50% in the first 20k miles.

Yeah, I've always envied the European market, where size and quality aren't so locked together. I buy small because I like small, not because I can't afford big. I just wish small didn't so often mean shitty.

As for the "economy"-ness of it all, I find myself rather unexpectedly having to shop for a new car for my wife and it's shocking how much further ~$41k (the price of a Lariat Hybrid Mav) will go in segments that have actual competition.

No manufacturer is going to market a car in the economy segment with a cost is no object interior.

even at $7 an hour in the early ninties I was doing better, now I can hardly afford anything, forget going to the meat section in the supermarket, beef was a fond memory.
Early 90's I was making $11 an hour, but no car payment, no house just a cheap apartment and was working 50-55 hours a week. It was a easier time financially than now for sure. But we Americans have to have everything, and that costs money.

In the early 90s you could get the 2for$2 Big Macs at MacDonalds. Prices have increased faster than the paycheck.

this one doesn't ,I rather favor the austerity of the Japanese, not going so far as Thoreau..I have actually given away many new things I realized I would never use rather then go through trying to resell them-clutter is clutter!

This is a good point, Kevin. I downsized 3 times heading towards retirement. Lots of helpful donations. Had the money to buy what I wanted. Don't miss any of it! Maverick owners IMHO did not buy for excess, but the XL owners especially knew the deal.

We are "brain-washed" to "think" that WE NEED EVERYTHING..
At the store, I don't think I need 12 different types of Mustard... :ROFLMAO:
I was fortunate to be brought up, in an Auster household.

Yes, I do have a few luxuries.. But not to the extent that I can't even get my Mav in the garage..:ROFLMAO:
Going down my alley. Most of the time U can't even see the neighbours' car that parked there..:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
