Good job by the tech, spotting that and letting you know.
It has 45000 miles but the power train warranty is still good. I hope Ford doesn't get me headaches.Good job by the tech, spotting that and letting you know.
Now warranty kicks in and takes care of the repair for you, I imagine.
Let's hope it won't be long before it is in to the shop and you are back on the road in no time!
Have a good one,
Andy
No leaksAny leaks?!
It's metalis that the case? looks like a foam type insulation
Good thing you didn’t wait until 60,001 miles to change fluid!
That's what I thought, the OP said there's no leakingMight be just a casting mark not a crack.
The desleInteresting. So, question begs….any other see this?
You have to pull the trans to get to this part. It butts up to the wheel well.Hate to see that. I had a situation like that….on my son’s Mitsubishi GT3000. Transmission leaking. An alum cover cracked. Removed it, degrease it. Took small rotary file to do V notch over crack. Then added JB Weld. Fixed it. Happy.
This is hopefully the situation and that whether Ford replaces it or NOT, get it in writing so that if LATER there's an issue you can report back that the issue was pointed out before the warranty expired.Might be just a casting mark not a crack.
Not according to the Ford tech. That's what I thought, the OP said there's no leaking
