Oil change at dealer with oil additive?

2025 Lariat EB, 5000 kms, went for my first oil change at the local dealer.
Just checked the invoice and they added some BG115 along with the oil. looked online and this is some kind of oil treatment.
Is this standard procedure for an oil change?

You were hoodwinked. At 5000km, no need for an oil 'fortifier' (whatever the hell that is) (BG p/n 115). Time to find a new dealer if possible.

Most oils have additives already so maybe your dealer has a bare bones oil and they added the additives separately

The owner's manual specifically says no additives needed. Dealer should have never added any without your permission, and certainly not charged you for it.

Dealers make a ton of profit from the service dept. The LOVE getting you to drop your vehicle off so that can find something to charge you for. Avoid them for anything other than warranty work!

Benefits of fuel additives is much different than oil additives though. I know Mechanics who have been using BG stuff since the 90's.

So in the mail today, I get something from a local dealer telling me I can get a synthetic blend oil change, oil filter, tire rotation, plus various safety checks for $39.99. Regular price is $99.99. I'm too old to F with it, so maybe I'll see what else they are going to try to sell me.
