Would like some thoughts and suggestions on purchasing an extended warranty on my 2024 Maverick Lariat Hybrid.

you can read all the threads but here's my take:

  • Only get real FORD warranties, not 3rd party
  • Modern cars are filled with crazy tech, so the risk/reward equation favors vehicles with more tech. The Ford warranty prices are the same regardless of trim, so lariats with all the extra gizmos tend to be the better deals.
  • Buying a warranty sooner rather than later avoids the semi-annual price increases. Delaying the purchase gains you nothing as the start date remains the date of vehicle purchase. Better to purchase ASAP.
  • Consider getting the lighting warranty. It's been reported that a failed front headlight is over $1000 now and isn't covered without the lighting rider.

In the past I'd never purchase a warranty, but with our new 25 Lariat I went with a 10 year / 100 K / 0 deductible warranty at time of purchase. Too much tech and too complicated to repair at home. Low risk (the cost up front) potentially high reward. Granger Ford had the best deal on the truck and the warranty.

Ditto to gzebrick's comments- I purchased an extended warranty when I bought my 2024 XL hybrid. At the time, Granger was offering warranties at just over cost. Check with them to see prices - you can buy the Ford warranty from any Ford dealer. Agree about adding the lighting coverage for a few extra dollars. Also, check price differences with deductibles - there was not much difference in cost so I went with low deductibles.

Not every Ford dealer offers Ford Protect warranties for purchase.

Granger or Flood are the way to go. I've have purchased a PremiumCare warranty twice from Granger.

Unfortunately they no longer offer $0 deductible for longer term warranties but still very good

Short, and sweet, Get your Ford ESP from Granger Ford. The longer you wait, the more you will pay. Get a 10 year, transferable policy that you can transfer to the next owner for top dollar when you sell. All policys start from the day your truck was sold, so waiting won't extend the remaining time. (you anly get another 7 years) after the original warranty.

I recently purchased a 25 XLT and will definitely be getting Ford Premium Care. In addition to Granger and Flood, checkout Zeigler Ford. I got online quotes from all 3 and Zeigler was the lowest for 10 year / 100k coverage.
It seems it costs the least if you purchase right away rather than waiting until you’re near the end of the factory warranty.

I second Granger Ford Pricing. When I went to the dealer to pick up my Lariat they quoted me more than double Granger. When I said I was going with Granger they got all Pissy, and the rest of the experience in the finance office was curt at best.

It is stated on the side of my dashboard "built ford tough" so I didn't get the warranty.
They actually meant to put "Built Ford Rough" but their QA department missed the T and they ran with it....

Good to see there are a few other Ford dealers who are providing some competition to Granger.
All the local dealers in my area want significantly more than what I purchased one from Granger for.

Apparently that dealership doesn’t want you to purchase your next Ford from them.

What exactly did you expect after rubbing their noses in it? It's not just the dealer making money on the warranty, the guy you mocked earns commission.
