IF your using our Steeda Sway Bar 555 1031:

11. Tighten the swaybar bushing brackets to factory specs, around 35-40ft-lbs.
12. Install the factory heat shield back by covering bushing bracket.
13. Reattach the factory end links nut with 75 lb-ft. to the Steeda adjustable swaybar in one of the 3 positions. The softest setting is the hole that furthest away from the swaybar and the one closest to the bar is the stiffest. We typically suggest starting it in the middle hole and adjusting from there. Figure 3

It gets missed kinda often, but we put our Instructions under the Spec/Install tab.
Can’t pick a stiffness setting on my OEM Lobo sway bar like one can on the Steeda. I would guess the stiffest setting on the Steeda would be stiffer than the OEM. So even a Lobo can be made stiffer by switching to s Steeda. Thanks!

Yes it can!
With all of our Adjustable Swaybars, the hole furthest away from the bar is the Softest setting, and the hole closest to the bar is the firmest setting.

Sorry about my delay in response here earlier. Too many Emails + we get kinda buried with Sales over weekends, so my apologies Mark for not answering sooner.

The measurements mentioned before is what I could source online ( OEM VS LOBO Diamter) since I didn't have any here in our shop.

Actually had 2 of the LOBO bars come thru, but between the time they came into inventory and then left was same day, I couldn't get over to shipping early enough so I could stick my calipers on em and measure the diameter.

The nuts on the swaybar links. What are the torque specs. I just have a piece of paper with a QR code.
I don't know. I am a former mechanic, so I'm pretty good a swagging these things, the nuts do have plastic locking rings, so I felt comfortable doing it by hand.

If no spec is available or impossible to position my torque wrench - I will tighten as hard as they were to remove. I’m not a certified mechanic by any means & would never work on another persons car.

There is a heat shield over one of the bushings in my Lobo - what kind of bolt is that?

It's a dual purpose stepper bolt, the first and smaller treads hold the heat shield, the much larger threads underneath hold the sway bar bracket.

I'm using the one for the AWD Ecoboost. Just waiting for nice weather!

Just in terms of annoyance, it reminds me of those hex head or torx head or whatever it's called that has the nipple in the middle. You have to go out and buy one damn head that has the indentation for the nipple otherwise you are SOL.

The Ford Performance M-5490-MS Maverick Sway Bar and Bushing Kit (22-25) is an upgrade kit for non-Lobo Mavs. The Factory Diameter on the 22-25 non-Lobo is 16mm.
The Lobo rear sway bar is 19mm. Definitely a nice upgrade for the price.
@Steeda-Sergio , your stated diameters are incorrect. The factory standard sway bar and this sway bar have the same diameter of 23.4mm. My Ford Performance (Lobo) sway bar arrived from Steeda today, and I have measured both of them myself with a digital caliper. They both also have a sticker on them that show the same diameter of 23.2mm. This is likely a measurement taken prior to adding the black finish, thus the slight variation from my measurement.

The stickers show two part numbers:

Stock: NZ61-5A771-ANA
Ford Performance: SZ6C-5A771-BNA

It appears that my FX4 has the same sway bar as the standard 2.0L AWD Maverick, as none of the parts specify FX4. The Lobo has a separate part number, which is the same as the hybrid AWD. (See below). However, I can assure you they're both the same diameter, as I mentioned above:

Ford Maverick Ford Performance Sway Bar (from Lobo) can be installed & fits other trims (part # M-5490-MS) 1763412947120-pq

Ford Maverick Ford Performance Sway Bar (from Lobo) can be installed & fits other trims (part # M-5490-MS) 1763412920751-8c

EDIT: Though the sway bars have the same overall diameter, they are tubular bars with different wall thicknesses. Measured at the crimped ends, where the links are bolted on, the Lobo bar is 7.4mm thick, and the standard sway bar is 6.8mm thick. This measurement shows the difference in tube wall thickness and thus, spring rate.

Has anyone installed the Lobo sway bar from FP yet? I got one, probably installing next week but was wondering if anyone confirmed if the drive shaft or exhaust needs to be dropped. Instructions don’t mention it but I have seen a few ppl post about it on here.

drop the exhaust, you don't have to unbolt it, just remove it off its hangers. you'll have to fish the sway bar into place/

Hey Tbone,

Thank you for the information. You are correct, I had based my information on what I had available to me at the time, which was not either bar physically. I corrected myself on #47 instead of editing the original.

How did you drop the Hybrid exhaust without pulling off the heat exchanger wiring or lines?
I laid under mine for a couple hours trying to figure out a way to not damage anything. It seems so fragile just looking at it and a slight tug would break something

Chompsticks has the EB without the heat exchanger.

You would probably need to cut your exhaust pipe somewhere behind the heat exchanger while supporting the heat exchanger piece with a box or something.

Then pull the cut section off the hangers to give you room to install the sway bar.

After installing bar, use some clamps to reconnect your cut pipes & connect back onto the hangers.

Finding the correct sized clamps is tricky & cutting the pipe while under your car is a pain.

Maybe have an exhaust shop cut & clamp - then you can drive home and do the sway bar at your leisure?

You would just need to loosen the clamps & remove the pipe from the hangers. Install the sway bar and clamp the pipes back together.

Hey, maybe install a magnaflow muffler as part of the suspension upgrade;)

I disconnected the wires on the heat exchanger, there is plenty of length and flex in the coolant hoses to not be an issue , but I do recall removing the push pins at the rear of the felt guard as not to let the hoses contact the guard. In addition to disconnecting all the middle are rear hangers, you will also need to unbolt the hanger bracket ahead of the catalytic converter. The flex pipe ahead of the converter will allow the exhaust to fall plenty.
If the purpose of you dropping the exhaust is to replace the sway bar, good luck, I still couldn't get the factory bar out and the exhaust was no longer the issue at all after dropping it. I ended up cutting the factory bar to get it out. The problem is the bushing are bonded to the bar and it's possible that you could get it out if you are willing to scratch and dent the hell out of the underside of your truck (I was not). The aftermarket bar reinstalls with no issue, as the bushings are separate parts. I would NEVER want to attempt this job without a car lift.
