Good point !!! And I have gotten used to slowing down on What we call the Phoenix Motor Speedway or clicking on cruise control!
I hear you. I spent a lot of time on the 17, the 51, the 101... I never got a ticket though...

what people forget about muscle cars is mystique, the sound and stance of those old bruisers was"Americana" unleashed,my brother had a mustang "grande" with the 351 Windsor( 300 hp-quite a sleeper and get this 17 mpg)
I always wanted to restoke a Ford 351 Windsor into a 400.

Very nice! One request, lose the chin spoiler, it looks ridiculous on an otherwise beautiful car!

I enjoy driving my 22 2.0t, it's very quick of the lights. I'm 60 and my wife of 33yrs won't drive in it with me because she says I drive to fast.
I live halfway on a 1/4 mile straight stretch with 2 curves on either end. People come out of one curve and punch it till they get close to the end curve. I have deer, elk and coyotes all around me. One night I could hear a “crotch rocket “ from quite a ways away, just given her. Then Bam! He hit an elk at night. Not Pretty. FYI. Scares me a little when do my Italian tune ups.

100% agreed...I was going to remove it, paint it to match the color, then see if that does anything but yeah, I don't like it either..I also don't like the chrome edging around the sude scoops as well as the rear spoiler...

All I heard was your 78
and your Girlfriend is 38.

Nothing else matters. Go get em,
‘Night of the Old Code”

Hey OP,
I hung with an M5 in these Appalachian Mountains.
With 39 psi hot in the tires this sedan truck is very well balanced.

OK, this now CLEARLY falls into the TMI category.... Some things you can't un-see.... 😵
I got off the porch along time ago. This is some funny shit.
With all due respect for the OP and his girl,
I think you two are GREAT !

Next time you’re in a tight turn, STAY on the gas !
It’s a Ecoboost thing.

I think I need new tires :D

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I had a '57 Chev Bel Air with a 350 Vette motor, 3/4 race cams, and a double pumper Holly carb on an Edelbrock manifold. The Borg Warner Turbo Hydro tranny it was connected to would burn rubber in all 4 gears. The car was a lot of fun on he newly opened freeway segment that no one used for a few months until it was actually connected to get somewhere.

The car was great in a straight line. It would stuff you back in the seat. Turning... not so much. ;)

In my case though, the car was a total stock looking sleeper. It was even quiet, exhaust wise, except for the loping idle which gave it away at a light..
Turbo Hydro was a Turbo 350 or 400 Automatic not a 4 speed?

I have heard installing Pedal Commander will give you some additional snappiness in the different, modes , my 2024 AWD xl is plenty quick for me , and I have found myself nudging that 100 mph mark easily while cruising on freeway, keeping up with traffic and passing then looking down to see I’m clipping along at 95-100
I had the JMS Pedal Max on the BS BB I had and it improved Throttle response big time I was very happy with it. It was like Sport Mode but actually shifted into the higher gears with the Pedal Max unlike what Sport Mode does unless You're going really fast.

According to zeroto60times.com, Fastest recorded 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 had a 5.7 second 0-60 time.

AI query found at least one Maverick XLT doing a 5.9. Take AI result with grain of salt.

However, it is completely believable. Especially given modern traction control, the plastic body, and improvements in engine technology.
Pretty impressive the Maverick is only 2 tenths slower to 60 than the SS 454 Chevelle!! And that zeroto60times site is great I use it all the time.
