Yes it is. Speaking of that, it seems no auto site has tested a 2025 FWD Hybrid. Should be even quicker without the 200# or so awd system.
I've driven both the FWD and AWD 25 model hybrid Mavericks (and also owned a 23), and I can attest that both are notably quicker. I didn't drive the FWD model hard enough to determine if it was quicker than the AWD drive model though.

Also explain the ~8% better braking performance 70-0mph...
The AWD drive model has that 200lb weight difference mostly in the back, which on a truck is normally much biased towards the front. More weight in the back would allow the rear brakes to be able to clamp down harder without locking up the tires. This may explain the difference.

@MarkLally
The weight in the rear supporting more grab sounds logical.
Myself, I've only ever driven the 25, but in terms of both go and stop, I like it at lot.

“More powerful electric motor” sounds interesting.
Would be interesting if they provided an upgrade package.

Hell yeah ‼
cmon we all know a hybrid will haul ass when stomped on
Yeah for 10 minutes then the battery goes soft and your left with the 2.5’s 150 hp.
As long as I got gas in the tank I can climb and haul azz.
I’ve seen Mavbrids haul it up off the line just like my Eco.
But then what. ?
Don’t you have to Re-gen first to get some from 50 to 60 say six or seven times like in a mix of switchbacks ?

I did finally re-test drive a Mavbrid, I was impressed to say the least. Very quick off the line. Absolutely !
I was glad to get back in my Eco.
I just don’t like the transmission feel. Feels like a golf cart, no gears. Yucky feeling.

To each his own right !

Zoom Zoom !
Oh crap that’s Mazda :’P

A turbo hybrid like a F150 would be the best of both worlds!

I thought about going with the hybrid, but with 95% highway driving I'd only gain 4mpg (34 vs 30) so decided to go with the more traditional powertrain. Also leaves the option open for bumping hp to 300+ if so desired in the future.

Impressive for sure and the mileage on the Hybrid is great but I'm glad i got the 2025 AWD XLT with the 2.0 EB. IMO it just seems like I see more problems on here with the Hybrids than the 2.0 EB.

I believe the difference in the 2 versions is the AWD can apply full torque of the electric motor from a standstill vs the FWD model, if you note the 30-50 & 50-70 times the FWD version has a slight advantage, & likely would from 25mph & up.
Neither is using only the motor when you stomp on the Go pedal.

If you attempt to ease on down the road, pre-25MY is limited to 10% power, except in special situations on startup where you can actually hit upwards of 20% before ICE is kicked on.
25MY seems to be reported about 12-15% power (seems an update may have changed that) max normally before ICE brought on, not sure if anyone has seen the special extra long EV power available on rare instances.

In either case - that's not the max limit possible from the HVB anyway, a full stomp is bringing on the ICE immediately, so the bigger motor is beneficial for however long that takes - but the Amp limit for battery draw doesn't allow full motor use anyway. Rest needs to come from the DCDCConv.
Once the ICE and gearing by the generator motor allows it - some electric is sent over as extra to the traction motor - enough to hit it's max at some point.
But the gearing has to be right from the GM, some ratios don't create many Amps to send over, especially as you get faster.

I'm guessing because I haven't seen logs on 25MY - that the same amp limit actually does allow more torque to be applied, so that's good.
But they for sure changed some limits too, allowing more use of the power that's available.
That could be changed for the pre-25MY too. Oh I'd love some 15% power limits!

Overall and for the majority of the hybrid owners they are problem free. Even with the fluke of three dead drive batteries up here. Replaced by Ford under warranty I must add.

If you drive a lot the better mileage is a big deal. I would like to see in future models double the battery capacity.

An increase of 63 ft lb of torque available at 0 RPM will do that!
the emotor is great takes away and smooths out the "bong, bong"! Ram has done this, strangely enough they only give you the strong motor with the strong engine, what's that all about(I'll never buy a Ram-they always shoot themselves in the foot ,one company( didn't take off) did this right with F-150s (I guess Ram was hung up on selling overrated hemis and 100K$ trucks) (that thing got a hemi with MDS? take the forklift and put it on the lift)
