Ford $30K Electric Truck. A winner?

So there are a large number of potential buyers who may buy an EV for the first time???:unsure:
Sure IF they want to.
But they are still competing against hybrids that can go multiple times farther.
No charger required. 😉

IF folks told the result of using only 1 car and not like those adding to their family fleet of vehicles, stories like this exist....

Do know 3 families who bought an ev.
*Replaced gas vehicle *Not adding another vehicle
Those were families that were going to use the vehicle for a lot of things....= going to and from work and transporting kids to their kid events and sports. Each of the three families within months realize what they bought was half a car. Because it had so much charge time needed.
2 could even charge at work.
IF a charging port was open.
They all learned the hassle of trying to figure out when to charge the cars and what they were going to be used for during the week.
It was a complicated issue.

Each family at times ended up needing to uber their kids to events.
On a couple road trips they rented a gas vehicle because of ev distance limitations.
Go figure...cuz with an ev...figuring distance is reality.

Understand what you are saying. However, how many families only have one vehicle?
Per Forbes, 37 percent of U.S. households have two cars; another 22 percent have more than two cars. Thus, EV's may have a niche. Just sayin...........

LOL your comments are limited to the merkun populis???
'Surly' you must be able to look beyond that demographic to realize there are far more millions of drivers who drive more than 40 miles in 1 trip to and from work.

Manufacturers are at some point creating vehicles to sell for carbon credits for the fleet of gas engines they sell.

The trueth about the current statistics are an extremely low percentage of people are electric vehicle owners.
Murken or otherwise 😉 fact!

Its weird how people do not want to recognize the factual statistics that are already part of the population. It doesn't negate that another ev can enter the market.
However acknowledging the low % of buyers is still a fact !!!
it's also weird that an extremely low percentage of people, even Merkuns, use a horse and buggy.
My point being that this is a transitional period, where vehicles other than ICE are being brought to the marketplace.
And once again I think "SOME PEOPLE" are envisioning an all-or-nothing marketplace rather than simply a variety of products and choices. As the cost of fossil fuels continue to rise due to supply/demand, it will be the poors that are getting EVs. I scoffed about Tesla being just for rich people when they first started out. It won't be too long before the table is turned, and the poors will be the majority of EV buyers. It's a good thing domestic (Merkun) crude and refined fuels are being sold abroad to the highest bidder? If there were an export fee to make the profit even with just refining and selling domestically, we'd have a bit of breathing room. But then again, we're about to annex the country with the highest oil reserves in the world, so maybe a little of that will trickle down to domestic markets. I'll be dead before we "run out of oil", so my points are mostly academic rather than self-centered.

Also, I'll continue to use Merkuns as a point of reference simply because that's the majority of people on this forum. I wouldn't want to confuse anyone with Kms per Liter or anything.

I want EV’s to go main stream but I just don’t see it.
I read a post in here that mentioned one hour or sub one hour charge times.
To what 50% ?
City use with a second gas/ hybrid car makes some sense but I don’t know.

When we had our MachE I waited a full hour at an EA station in Lake City FL to charge from 20 to 100% mainly because I didnt trust the other charging stations along the way! On that same trip I waited for a couple hours using a low speed charger at a Harley dealer in Panama City!

Yes a small niche.
LOL maybe thats what the next ev should be called
'The Niche' 🥳

Btw never said ev shouldnt exist.

It is funny how this topic has really 'defined into particulates
The micro-sub-population catagory'
of ev possible owners.

That is an honest response to the reality of ev.
Kudos Cherokee 👍

Not quite sure how 59% of a car-owning population and the reasoning of human animals within can be categorized as a micro-sub-population unless the person who so states, is blowing smoke, i.e. a coagulation of particulates!!

How about this !
I think, and yes I do think about my posts,
Anyway me thinks :

79% of that 59% just wanted to be on the new, apparently winning side of the EV thing.

I doubt that 79% of the 59% has ever owned or will own an EV.

Like the percentage of posters in This forum that don’t know jack, or shit for that mater but post like they are an expert.

Same madness, always the same affliction,
‘Self Importance’ such an awful burden.

Millions of cars on the road yet even a dinky percent represents itself in the Millions.
Screenshot_20251115-065436_Chrome.webp
Heres a re-visit
1.4 % ev on the road.
Sure 4.1 million...
Yet still micro size sub catagory of owners compared to other vehicles.
(Yes humor with a description of the small particulates in the subcategory of the population that includes)

Geeez 🥳

I wonder how many EV owners are even on MTC. Everyone here speaks with such authority one way or the other but how many of us actually use one in our day to day lives?

Some people just "know" things. Such people are typically very generous in sharing their special knowledge. There's no need for citing sources or examining statistics. And, if absolutely necessary, some AI confirmation bias can be found easily.

Probably not many. Those of us that enjoy both (BEV & ICE) can clearly understand the limitations of each, and also appreciate the advantages. There is no "one size fits all". Choices are generally a good thing. 🤠
