Hello all Fellow MTC members, i am trying to gauge interest in a prerunner-ish style brush guard for mavericks as there is limited on the market and the ones that are available are trash in my opinion.

These would be all ccustom designed and fabricated by myself. I have eighteen years experience in the fabrication and welding field, as well as fourteen years In the automotive industry in Detroit.

At first, it would be a very limited run, as it will be quite the task to get it up And operational but I figured I would ask to see if there would be any other interest before I would invest the time in it.. The first one will be a designed prototype for my own vehicle With customers coming after kinks are worked out.

The first ones will be for the tremor variant with possibility of them fitting others. But that will come in the future, as I will need a non tremor Maverick for test fitting purposes.

The picture included with this post will not be an exact duplicate of what it is as this is another member's design, And I do not want to encroach on that but it will be the general idea of what it will look like.

I am thinking I'm going to offer the choice between four separate lights or a light bar mount for it Depending on what you choose and powder coated.

If I get enough interest and people are truly serious in wanting One I will move forward with the next step and document the entire process here for all to follow along with.

Once again, picture included with this post is not mine or my design but similar to style.

I wonder if we could just take one off the Bronco Sport with the sasquatch package.

Anything is possible with a saw and a welder😆
I would be offering a exponentially better product than what this would be, with a lot more options for lights or other accessories.
Plus actual protection on the front of your vehicle So it serves its intended purpose

Let me throw my 2 cents in. In my pre-Tremor days, when I was trying to create tow hooks for a non-FX4/Tremor, I thought these Blue Ox # BX2690 brackets would have been a good starting point. Although they did not work well as a flat-towing baseplate, these brackets mount at 3 points, and may provide a fairly secure point to attach a brush bar to. Have a pair of "stubs" sticking out, slide the brush bar over them and bolt on.

I appreciate that,That's definitely a good starting point.
That saves a lot of fabrication work That's why I love this community.

There was a post/thread that someone switch a front bumper from a jeep, I think. It offered tow hooks, winch and if I remembered correctly a brush guard. Thought it was sweet but I don't remember what the thread was called. Or if the Maverick's existing suspension can handle the extra weight.

Kind of wished Ford would offer a front 2 inch receiver that would allow use of a winch or a light duty snow plow that's used on UTV. Right now a snowplow voids manufacturers warranty and no place for a winch. A 2 inch receiver will offer access to a portable winch that could be used in the hitch front and back .

TThat's exactly the kind of feedback I appreciate from the community.Something like that could be easily adapted into the design to allow a temporary addition of a winch

I don't think a brush bar is a good idea on a unibody vehicle. Will just be a damage multiplier in almost any collision.

I'm definitely curious on what you come up with. During my time off for the holidays, I was thinking of pulling out the ole' Harbor Freight mig welder and see what I can whittle up myself. I was thinking of tying in a tab to the front skid plate, come up forward along the lower bumper cover, and tabs off the front tow hook mounts coming out inboard of the hooks. Then a simple hoop, being careful not to block the front radar sensor or parking sensors. Photo is an extremely rough idea. I also will share pictures I came across of a Ranger and Maverick for ideas too.

I sent you a p.m. reguarding your bar and mounting. I know you are going with the Tremor and FX4 first. The underside has 2 bolts on each side of the sub unibody that could be removed to attach a bracket to. Just wanted to be more clear about that. I want one more for looks and light mounting capabilities. For those who don't want to remove or cut the bumper cover. Hybrid and FWD owners.

Just not sure, as the taller units would block the lidar, and of course the stated possible uni-body issue. That said, the idea of having something to protect the front end from other drivers is appealing (I have trust issues), just not sure how much protection it would provide on a uni-body vehicle.

I had a beautiful chrome safari bar on my GMC Envoy years ago, which was both functional, and looked great. Of course it also had a 2 1/2 inch lift kit, rear bumper step-hitch, and other goodies attached.

I agree with you while it can be a damaged multiplier. In some essence, you must also take into consideration that brush guards have been put on unibody vehicles for quite some time For instance, the police interceptor or dodge chargers those take a massive amount of abuse with little to no damage to the unibody. Now granted, this is two completely different applications and they are intended for two completely different purposes.
If I had the choice of having something like this for the extra amount of added protection for the front of the vehicle in the event of animal collisions or minor bumps i would much rather run the minuscule possibility of slight unibody damage and save $10's of thousands worth of front end damage.
And I mean, let's be real if you hit something hard enough with this to bend the unibody that'll be the least of your issues.

Thank you for sharing this. I keep seeing arguments in other threads too saying it's a unibody and basically if you wreck the car, it will explode like a pinto, and you will die a painful death. The frame will be totaled as soon as you bolt it on, etc. If this is the case, then why has Ford included a front mounted nudge bar on the Bronco Sport? This is mounted to brackets that mount the same as the tow hooks do on the Maverick
