That's coming. Look up the Toyota Stout. Coming 2026. Intentionally pricing below the Maverick.
From what I've read, the base model will be more like $22k and the hybrid will be $25k and all of that is still subject to change because it's not something you can buy.

1. Just because the seats are uncomfortable for You doesn't mean they're for everyone else and I think people have Told You that on here before.
2.Sounds like You should have bought Your Maverick with the 2.0 EB if You wanted more pick up and shouldn't have bought a Hybrid.
3,How did the F-150 seats feel since i seen You on the F-150 Forum complaining about the Maverick Seats?
This is what I mean by my previous responses where the post has absolutely nothing to do specifically with seats and then for some reason a comment is made that turns it back towards the seat discussion. That is not what this post is about.

Hyundai’s are an absolute joke. Chinese steel is too brittle. Too much silica in the compounds.
Ever see a crash with one of these piece of shits AFTER its six or seven years old and the horribly unsafe chassis gets heat cycled beyond its limits ?
The thing falls apart literally.
They are not safe period.
Not to mention they are designed to last at best to a 150,000 If you don’t crash it.

People around here buy them all the time.
About year three or four at 80,000 miles the oil consumption goes up steadily. The problems start.
This is the norm for these crappy cars.
Close friend,110,000 miles now. Her hundi suv needs a quart of oil added every second fill up.
Guy I work with, engine blew just like the video, oil everywhere, at 49,000 miles.
Replacement engine was installed and he drove it home and saw smoke.
No oil left in That engine. It all leaked out in four miles.
Another friend, at 70,000 motor blew.
She drove it carefully, never missed a service.
Hyundai’s are crap and no one seems to look past the paint.

Sign over my Fireplace says,
Can’t fix stupid.

It may be subject to change but as of this current moment those are what the numbers are which are under what it costs for the base model maverick. And I almost can guarantee you that Toyota will allow you to have power mirrors, lumbar support, amplifiers in the vehicle, and other features that the maverick does not have.

The only Hyundai I owned in my life was back in 2007 when I had bought a Tucson. Traded that thing back in after six months. Power steering blew out four times within those six months and the car wouldn’t start on numerous occasions. I don’t buy Hyundai anymore

Yeah but it’s a Toyota, a way overpriced brand nowadays.

I will 100% agree with you on that one. Toyotas are a great vehicles and they last a long time but the statement you made of that they are way overpriced now? 100% correct. I’ve done my research on vehicles and the Tacoma which is one of the trucks I’m looking at used to be in the low 20s. Overtime for some stupid reason it’s now escalated to where the base model you can get out the door in the mid 30s. Now granted it is a good truck and it’ll last you but you’re looking at an increase of $10-$15,000 overall. If you compare that to the maverick increase and we’re talking about the hybrid version of the XL that is a $10,000 increase whereas the eco-boost turbo style is about an $8000 increase. Now if you’re gonna compare apples to apples you’re looking at the eco-boost versus the Tacoma which is a $7000 swing between the two. So if you think about it $20,000 as the base number currently now the Maverick is at the average price of 28,000 for the XL trim without hybrid and close to 30 with hybrid. Tacoma is close to 35 so as you can see 35 and 28 get you about seven

I actually agree w/ him bc the XL hybrids are now $30k. When they first came out, it was $20k. IMO the XL is a $20k truck so his points about it costing $30k and not having much bells and whistles is valid to me. To put that into perspective, I got my XLT hybrid + Lux pkg for $25k (has all the bells and whistles that I wanted minus the adaptive cruise control)

Now consider the tech. Toyota is still using old engine designs. I get the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it but taco mpg’s suck.
Partially because the Tacoma is now another bloated pick up. Effectively taking it out of the
ā€˜Mini truck’ category.

Compare the Tacoma to the Ranger,
The Ford Ranger beats the crap out of the Tacoma for value and bang for the buck.

Back in the day customers were smart. An auto maker raises the price smart buyers would walk away, not buy it.
Pretty much every one was a smart consumer.
Dealer gets backed up, he cries to corporate,
Dealer gets the needed incentives to lower the price. Vehicles start selling again.

Now days these younguns just gotta have the latest thing and gotta gave it NOW ! They don’t know shit about quality or supply and demand. They pay,
Then prices go up more.

Retailers have us by the balls because we as consumers open our fly and say,
ā€˜I want, I want, how much is the payment ?
Six year payments,, Give me give me.

Then these people bitch about price increases, that they partially caused.ā€
