I just returned from the dealer I ordered from.
Placed my order 6-12-21 for Hybrid XLT Lux and all weather mats. On 8-3-21 I changed the order to Lariat Lux with mats.
Since there are some known communication issues with Ford I wanted to check in with the dealer to see where things stood with my order.
They said my order was still code 2 and no known restraints. OK, so far so good. I asked if they had any Hybrids that were at least in the build stage. Now it gets good, I was told no Hybrids have been built yet. When I questioned that I was told they got that info direct from the area Ford rep.
OK, I challenged that and said look up if any Hybrids were being shipped to the area. They found 1 in transit in the Tenn area. So much for no Hybrids being built.
It gets fun now, I asked about the Maverick allocations for that dealer. How many available and how many filled. Was told allocations did not work that way. I told them to look on You Tube for posts from Tim Bratz, a dealer in the next state over (Kansas). Told them it would help them get to know things about a product they are supposed to be informed about. Got blank stares from sales reps on that.

So now I ask, what should your dealer know about this ordering process?
Since there are few if any dealer ordered Fords of any kind showing up on any lots what should they know about how this works or should they just get on this site to stay up to date?

This dealer has 1 of my 2 orders. No confidence in this one, will be stopping at the other one in the AM. Hope I get better results.

I don't know what sales people are supposed to know about ordering vehicles these days, but it seems that your sales person knows less than whatever that is. It doesn't bode well for the future of that dealership.

Dang…

I called my sales guy and asked him to send me vehicle visibility report. He said talk to the manager, he is the only one that can get that info. I called the manager, he said talk to my sales guy, I told him that he instructed me to talk to you. I asked for any info he could give me. He said it’s not coming this week. I told him I know, I haven’t gotten the email telling me it’s coming. He then told me that he was busy and would try to get the visibility report sent to me. Blah blah blah. Of course no call back….

I do know it’s processing because I called the 800 number, so there is that.

Also there is this “Jim Hudson Ford-sucks”

Sadly, sounds about right. You should expect dealers to know how to mark up prices, overcharge, offer below market trade in values, maximize revenue and generally do things in the dealerships interests, not yours. They don’t care about your order until the truck comes around. That seems to be the extent of it. After your purchase, the parts and service folks are pretty nice and easy to deal with.

Based on the last 3 times I've gone in they won't know who I am lol. Aside from being able to order it smoothly my guys knew nothing about the mav. The finance guy didnt even know it existed. I went to check out the first one they got on the lot and ended up teaching both of them literally everything about it. Haven't gotten a single bit of communication from them since I ordered and I'm fine with that tbh

The Maverick Truck Club is a blessing. I learned so much about the Maverick on here more importantly I learned about the ordering process along with how the build and ship process works. That’s how I knew the dealer that I used knew exactly what to do. My dealer was spot on and didn’t do any BS dealer crap. In and out in an hour on delivery plus they kept me updated through the order-build-ship processes.
Do your homework, pick a good dealer, and get a hassle free Maverick. My thoughts is it’s more about what you know, that’s how I got my beautiful Maverick.
