So I was looking to buy a 2024 Lariat today with AWD, 4k tow, FX4 (don’t really need that) with 4,000 miles today.

Another dealer calls and says they can sell me a 2025 XLT luxury package AWD with 4k tow for an extra $500 over the above trucks price. I like the wireless CarPlay of this one, the fact it is a year newer, direct and port injection, and the better screen. Plus it’s a little cheaper.

However, I like the extra features of the 2024 (bedliner, already has bed cover - that’s worth about $1,000) plus better windshield, seats, wireless charger, ACC, etc.

Any thoughts, I can’t decide and need to get it today!

So I was looking to buy a 2024 Lariat today with AWD, 4k tow, FX4 (don’t really need that) with 8,000 miles for $35,000 out the door today.

Another dealer calls and says they can sell me a 2025 XLT luxury package AWD with 4k tow for $34,500 out the door. I like the wireless CarPlay of this one, the fact it is a year newer, direct and port injection, and the better screen. Plus it’s a little cheaper.

To me the biggest thing missing on the 2025, is the door pad. You may never need it, but the one time you do, it's priceless! Set it to your old zip code, so you will remember the numbers. Also I'm not a fan of everything being on the screen. I'm sure you can get another $500 off the 2024, and free oil changes if you show you are serious.

New off the show room floor on 12/31/24 I got my 2024 AWD Eco Lariat with the $700 up charged Hot Pepper Red paint for $36,000 plus the triple T, tax , tag, and title.
8,000 miles is used. Should be no more than
$32,000 IMHO
I did not need or get the 4K tow or the FX4 package.
8,000 miles should knock off 10% even on these high demand mini pick ups.

We just purchased 2 mavericks this year. We found the best 'bang for the buck' was a 25 hybrid 2WD XLT with just the safety nannies option. When we loaded up an XLT with all the comfort and extras we wanted + AWD + 4K towing it was close enough to the Lariat that the basic Lariat was the way to go. That's what we wound up with.. A '25 XLT hybrid 2WD with just the safety options and the 25 Lariat. We did add the wireless stick-on keypad so that's no big cost and we like that feature on our FORDs. The 25s have beefier axles, a better battery now, and of course the large screen Sync 4. We've found both of our 25s have exceeded our expectations.

The door pad was a DIO option in 2024. They stopped being in the B-pillar after 2023.

I actually put the wrong number. $32,600 for the 2024 Lariat OTD. Also only 4,000 miles.

I had the wrong price above. They’re asking $32,600 OTD for the Lariat, $500 more for the 2025 XLT.

I don’t think I would need/use the keypad much but I’m sure may come in handy!

Ya such a tough call… wish I could see/test drive them both but they’re too far away to go out without planning to buy.

Are there any majors issues with the sync 3/2024 screen or is the new one just nicer/bigger. If the original is glitchy especially with a wireless CarPlay adapter which I would want, that may tip me over the edge.

I would choose the '25 as it has the upgraded dual injected engine and entertainment system and probably be worth significantly more down the road IMO.

Not even an option - I'd go new 2025 with the XLT Lux Pkg.

While you'll lose the ActiveX seating (I enjoy it), power rear sliding window (another one but take or leave it), and the B&O system - you'll gain sync 4, port injection, it is brand new with full factory warranty.

Never had any issues (zero) with my MY22 lariat. The Sync 3 is a stable platform imo, haven't seen much of any issues/hate with it on this forum. Now the standard non sync 3 radio you see all kinds of hate. A wireless carplay adaper is simple and is no problem with the sync 3 that I know of. The newer my25 screen is a little bigger, some like that, some don't. It is a newer sync 4 version, not sure of differences between the two. Some like controlling things on the screen/menus, some prefer having the knobs for frequently used controls, like hvac, etc., personal preferences thing. Again, good luck, think you'll really like the little truck, love mine and its been rock solid so far

I definitely find sync4 to be a significant improvement over sync3

Also if you prefer AWD, 4K towing AND the excellent hybrid powertrain you're going to have to get a '25. Earlier years couldn't be configured with that happy meal.
