I would not call it mid-sized. If it were, could someone give me an example of a compact truck?

What specs make a ‘mid-sized’ truck or is it open to opinion?

Ford Marketing calls it “midsize” when comparing prices. If they were comparing towing capacity - they’d asterisk it “SUV”.

Not a truck by definition. It is a compact or SUV with a bed. A Pickup, yes. Would you call the Honda Ridgeline, El Camino, Ranchero, Subaru Brat trucks?

Is there a lower MSRP in any class?

Is there even a "compact truck" class?
The base MSRP of the Hyundai Santa Cruz is also lower in price than any midsize truck (Ranger, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier, Tacoma, etc). Not apples to apples either.

Ford Marketing is World Class - and I can appreciate the advert. Even more if I had a tv.

It is smart to say lowest MSRP in class & define class as midsize. I imagine Ford wants to attract buyers who are looking at the midsize category. Including the Maverick in your search requires looking at it in a “new light”.

Maybe when you ask AI for the lowest priced midsize - it will now tell you Maverick:)

Edit…Grok AI says the Nissan Frontier is the cheapest midsize & the Santa Cruz as cheapest compact/lifestyle truck. OK Ford - I see what you did there:)

Many years ago, Dodge claimed that the Dakota was the best truck in its class. At the time, it was the only midsize truck. Times have changed. I don't know what size LONE is. It is, somewhat, comparable to my old (2010) Ranger, but a tad larger. And, it's no where near as large as my 2019 Ranger was. And, don't even get me started on F150s (and up). I just try not to think about it.

I looked at a Ranger and compared the interior specs with Maverick, they were basically identical. So I got a midsized interior in my Maverick.
Now Ford wants to do the same with folks looking at the Colorado, Canyon, Taco, and Frontier. They’ll have to drive over to the Ford Dealer though.

Can’t call it a compact. All the guys who buy a pick up truck to compensate, well the Prius is a compact car.
Not gonna fly with the look at me I’m bad crowd.
