My previous truck was a F150 ( 2 wheel drive) and I had no issues going down a road with a foot of water. Has anyone had experience driving through water with the hybrid? Wondering about water and the battery……
Thank you….

Never a good idea of driving through a flooded area....1 foot of water can hide road damage that can strand you in an instant....but the good news is, you'll get to see yourself on the local news and maybe even a national news program.

It’s an awful idea in any vehicle not made to handle standing water.

In life or death scenario, go for it.

It's not going to electrocute you if that's what you're worried about.

It's also not going to instantly short; unless actually submerged.

But I would be worried about long term corrosion and damage.

If it's high enough to suck water into the Air Intake and into Your engine the engine could hydro lock and bye bye engine!!

From the "boating with my Maverick" thread. I'm going to say do not do this.

AI did not specify hybrid or Ecoboost.
That would look a tad better if it was lowered a bit, that huge gap and not seeing the tires looks odd.

Hmmm - keypad still work if you left your keys locked in the cab?
I guess that depends on hybrid or EB.
And if it auto-locked on ya...

Rephrase your question to filter out the landlubbers. Like this:

“Please answer ONLY:
1. If you know what a “king tide” is, and;
2. If you know what a “nor’easter” is, and;
3. If you know whether to stay for a CAT3, and;
4. If you live at least part-time on an island;
Only then, to you, I ask:
5. What are the effects of driving a Maverick in [salt] water?”

Otherwise, you will get nonsense from people who have never lived less than five or ten feet above sea level.

You’ll be fine. You will have the same issues as with your other truck.

The sand blasting of the headlights, windows, and everything else, however ….

Yes, I guess I should have been clearer. In our area we occasionally get thunderstorms which can cause storm sewers to back up ( impressive geysers ). Unless you are in a hollow, the water is usually no more than a foot on the road. I know others consider this a drip in the bucket but wasn’t sure about a hybrid. Now, salt water - I won’t drive through that for sure, even in my old Ford rust bucket - had the Ford fender rust. Thanks for the answer.

Heavy rain other day I drive through exit of parking lot at my gym Its about 6 inch deep. I go real SLOW , BUT a foot is double that. That is pushing it BUT if you do go slow .
