I drive a 3 month old 25 Maverick Tremor with less than 4K miles and want to trade up to the Ranger Raptor for several reasons. But the Maverick will lose almost 8-9 k from its purchase price in the trade. 43k after tax to 34k from carvana offer.
Is the Raptor truly that much worth it to justify the loss, if simply bought for the pleasure of driving and realizing that life is short. Important things for me are the ride comfort for daily commute and rear passenger seats. The F150 is just too big. Thanks for the advice.
For me, I wouldn’t even consider it. I don’t like the way that Rangers look. But I love the mavericks looks.

I don’t want a mid sized pickup. I only need a compact. And my Maverick barely fits in my 20 foot garage that has a standard sized 24 inch wide workbench.

And I don’t have FOMO about off-road capability. I used to have a 2 door wrangler Rubicon and went chasing the off-road dragon from 33’s to 35’s to 37’s to long arm lift kits to chromoly axles to RCV joints to hydraulic assist steering, hitting every rock garden and rubicon trail along the way. I know that with more capability, I will want to push into riskier and riskier situations. It’s the same thing with sports cars. If I have a mid engine 2 seat 600 hp sports car, I will want to push it as fast as I can, which leads to some risky situations with questionable braking zones.

So I have settled on the Maverick because it can get me through any 4wd situation that I should organically happen upon. Anything that the Maverick can’t handle is going to be a trail that I went and searched out, for its level of difficulty.

I’m perfectly happy with the size, looks and capability of the Maverick, as well as its more reasonable price and insurance premiums.

I might consider a Ranger raptor if it was a full refresh with new body style and I loved it. But that is not in the works for 2026 or 2027.

And lastly, what would I do if I was in your position? I would plan my next vacation into the great outdoors and I would go rent a ranger raptor from Turo or Kayak or something like that and live with it for a week or two camping and off-roading and see if it was really game changing, compared to my existing Maverick.

You are correct, my mistake, but it's a Colorado.
Colorado is crushing Ranger in sales. I was considering a 25 Colorado before I discovered the Maverick. Had a 2019 GMC Canyon that was very nice.

I think it’s about retirement - not working. Surfstar said they could have bought a more expensive vehicle but wants to save $$ in order retire sooner rather than later. Smart,

Retired - Like you & me:)
...and me. Retired and lovin' it.

Sorry to hear the Tremors don't hold value. That's a big hit for 4k miles.
