Yeah, honestly, I've been looking to upgrade...although I'll be honest, it's to the F-150. But what's keeping me back to a Mav trim is the fact I like the truck and outside of the seat, I'm not cramped. And the stereo sucks...soooo... My worry is that, as all trims have the same foam, what if I upgrade to the Lariat, and the same crap happens?

I don't hate Ford. My family has always been a Ford family. In fact I used to drive a Ford Focus.

I do have a bone to pick with Kia since they essentially helped Honda ditch my favorite car, the Element, so...there's that....lol.
I wanted to like the Element, it fell short of greatness for me, I was squeezing 25-28mpg out of my first gen Chrysler minivan and Element was not provably more efficient or more versatile. Only thing it has was being newer, so my Chrysler slogged on into the 10s and fell apart at about 25 years old. If chrysler had held over the 2nd gen (some Chrysler folks say it was 1st gen refresh) and put the neon motor in a basic model, that would have been *chefs kiss* guess they thought the PT cruiser would scratch that itch.

Have you checked into aftermarket seats? I never have so seriously I am wondering if that is not an option, because so many people are complaining about the comfort of the seats. Yet I don't see anyone talking about upgrading with new seats. Seems like there would be a market for that.✌

I can’t quite remember how much gas mileage I was getting out of the element but I can tell you I had that thing souped up. Had a really nice double den pioneer touchscreen with Alpine speakers that came stocked with the car and it was incredible. Great sound great base. It is so much fun to drive. I mean I’ll be honest with you if they ever came out with another element I’d be first in line. They’re not going to but I would be.

You know I have learned a bunch of good things from this group I can tell you that. Like I was suggested for a vehicle next time rent it for like a day or two and see if you like it. I’ve always liked the Maverick. I’ve liked the way it looks. I like the way it drives all of that. But I just don’t know if I can go down for years being in pain

I think I spent maybe $20 on a lumbar support that hangs from the headrest, works fine.

Where would you like me to start? 😁 I asked if the Nissan Murano (the best seats I’ve ever had) could be put in. I’ve asked if the Honda element seats could be put in. I’ve asked if the bronco sport seats could be put in. I’ve asked if the Ford Explorer seats could be put in. I was met with a no response at every turn. Regardless if it was from Ford themselves or with an upholstery place. Most upholstery places will not do more than just a half an inch or so of foam on top of what is there because they don’t want to change the fabric of the seat. They said they could put a lumbar support in but the lumbar support set up that they have mentioned doesn’t seem like it’s going to last very long

I’ve tried different seating positions. I’ve tried raising it. Lowering it. Moving it closer or further. I’ve tried different seat cushions whether it was egg carton foam, to the purple brand cushion, to this cushion I’m sitting on right now. I’ve tried different lumbar support pillows.

But I’m wondering if it happens across all Ford vehicles. Are they like cell phone companies that encourage you to upgrade your trim?

Here's something I found online. Don't know if it will help. Friday I strained my lower back jumping to hit a pickleball, yeah at 66 let it go, and have used the lumbar support in my Lariat since. Also the heat on low helps with the muscle pain but wouldn't if it were nerve. I feel for you. But I also would hate to see you trade the Maverick and find out the next vehicle is no better.

Today I was heading into the shoe store to get new shoes, and a guy with a Ford Explorer pulled up. I had asked him if it was a 2025 one because it looked new and he said it wasn't - that it was a 2021. I asked him how'd he like it and he said he hated it because the seats are uncomfortable as the base trim (which he had) had no lumbar support. He was fit, so it couldn't be this whole "you're fat" claim many love to throw around.

My question for you all...do you think Ford does this intentionally? Do they make base level seats uncomfortable?
On my 4th year and my seat extremely comfortble, My dog has went from Florida to Ohio and back 4 times and she has NO complaints about the passenger seat either. ha ha ha

It makes no sense for ford to do that since it would hurt overall sales. I think it's totally subjective. One person says something is good, a different person says the same thing is bad.

Weird, I found the opposite. I was happy my wife traded in the Explorer because I never found the seats comfortable. I am way more comfortable in my Maverick. Always have been and I've lost 120 pounds since owning it.

I put in after-market seat covers all the way around in my 2025 XL hybrid. Not sure about the rear seat, but the front seat covers came with small lumbar supports built in and are pretty comfortable. I got the covers primarily because they're a lot easier to clean. No idea of their lifespan, but after years of cleaning our CRV upholstery with a portable upholstery cleaner I didn't want to go that route with the Maverick. And in the end, put similar covers on the Honda. That was all this year so I'll see how they hold up, but so far, it's a whole lot better than cleaning upholstery stains on the OEM seats.

My 1st questions are what type of shoes and brand did you purchase? We’re they on sale and are they comfortabe?
