As long as there is a separate brake light that illuminates brighter than the running lights. There is no DOT regulation against having separate brake lights and running lights.
Separate running lights do not have to get brighter when the brakes are applied; instead a separate red brake light should illuminate, with increased brightness to act as a distinct signal for deceleration.

Additionally signaling lights, such as brake lights and or turn signals, cannot be on a movable surface such as a hatch on SUV's.
That is why you see some turn signals mounted in the bumper of some SUVs.

So since they do not have a separate red brake light, you are saying they are not street legal, correct? Unless it's the video, all I'm seeing is the amber lights getting brighter when the brakes are applied.

Am I see that right? When you hit the brakes, the red doesn’t get brighter? I believe all 50 states require brakes to illuminate red. Also the amber turn signals illuminate when you hit the brakes? Not sure if these are street legal in the states.
In the video, the running lights are the bracket shape "[ ]" on the outside edge and top/bottom. When the brakes are applied the center of both upper and lower brackets illuminate along with the CHMSL.

I'm saying they are legal.
Just as the pictures in "Castle666" post shows.
The center are brake lights.

Look at this image from post #1 and tell me you still say the brake light is red.

It is obviously amber LEDs.
Yep, I agree with you they're yellow.
They won't be legal.

I agree they look like they're yellow. 🤷‍♂️
They will not be legal.
Highly doubtful that their DOT approved.

When I saw the video the first time I thought like you it was the video making it look yellow. Then when I enlarged the photo I changed my mind. If that was the turn signal I could get on board with them. I did ask Mabett if they are DOT approved but not heard back.
I asked if they were DOT approved also. I haven't heard back either.

I'm pretty sure they're a rebranding of a set that's been around for a couple months. If so the brake light is red, it looks different because the running lights are a red LED through a red lens and the brake lights are a red LED through a clear lens.

Thank You Jeff
That's what I had been saying previous post including pictures.
I finally agreed, just to end the back and forth!

This is what Mabett emailed me yesterday and this morning.
I remember a famous line. Looks can be deceiving. Bad camera crappy lighting whatever. Yes I agree, if they're selling something they should have a professional photographer. The photo representation that they put out there is definitely terrible.

Has anyone noticed in the first picture in this post that the third brake light matches the taillights when the brake is pressed? Red confirmed because we all know the third light is red.

Yes, I made mention of that in a previous post.
