Ouch that’s steep!
Yes it is but every mount and holder combination is made for a specific phone, case and vehicle. They also have pieces to create your own if you can’t find one that you like or fits your needs.

I am curious why folks mount their phones. I put mine on the cradle on the console and it connects with a wireless dongle and everything is on the trucks screen. What is the advantage of mounting the phone?

Why get a phone holder. Get a wireless fob for your carplay or Android. Your phone will automatically hook up to your phone wirelessly. It will display maps, audio input, and anything else you need. Put ur phone away!

I have a ProClip Magsafe Mount and I usually have the maps up on the main screen then music playing (Apple Music or SiriusXM) on the phone screen so I can glance and see what's playing or just use it for charging since I have a wireless CarPlay dongle. Works well for my application and like others said, fills the cubby space :)

The phone is mounted to keep it charged. It’s mounted there so it’s not forgotten when I leave the vehicle. I don’t see any reason to buy a dongle for a feature I don’t use (don’t let the CarPlay screen fool you). CarPlay is just on screen during the setup of the mount.

Yes it’s an expensive mount. It’s not a generic mount. It’s custom made for the phone I use. It can be further customized to the vehicle I’m driving. It can be customized to fit other applications. It’s the best most secure mount I’ve ever bought. I’ve been using these mounts for more than 10 years in my personal and work vehicles. I had tried other mounts but they either didn’t fit my needs or were junk.

Well I for one would like it. There are certain apps that don't show on android auto. Torque and Highway Radar are two I can think of. But the mabett ones are magnetic. I like it but need a non magnetic one.

I had a MagSafe mount but the phone would fall off if bumped or if the road was rough enough. I got tired of pulling over to retrieve my phone.
