That's not a bad idea. I think I would have to get a USB splitter so I can plug this in...and the wireless charger at the same time. Or perhaps something like this with a USB-C type plug. thanks.

I have mine on a USB A to C adapter so it fits in the C slot. Also, the factory USB that go to the radio aren't very good for charging things, takes like 5x as long or more to charge up my phone. I use a higher capacity charger in the cigarette lighter hole.

Yeah, I don't really like plugging and unplugging my phone every time I get in/out of the truck.

Seems like comparable effort to putting it into and taking it out of a mount, but whatever.

The phone is mounted to keep it charged. It’s mounted there so it’s not forgotten when I leave the vehicle. I don’t see any reason to buy a dongle for a feature I don’t use (don’t let the CarPlay screen fool you). CarPlay is just on screen during the setup of the mount.

So, the CarPlay screen doesn’t fool me. It lets the car interact seamlessly. CarPlay will also display a much larger view of your map. But stay in the first decade of the 21st C. Oh by the way they don’t make roll up windows anymore.

I don’t need my phone interacting with my car. I don’t need my car interacting with my phone. My Maverick has a map that I rarely use. Why is it important for you to insult me because I find no use for CarPlay?

Calling out the victim but not the attacker? Seems one-sided. I would even say that defending against a snarky attack is less of a violation. Maybe that's just me, but I'm OK with that.

Thanks...It worked out great. No cable to plug/uplug. Just get in truck. Put phone in wireless charger and push button on steering wheel to talk to truck/phone..."Navigate to XXXX"...and display shows route w audio. Also good for text messages, calendar, etc.
