Funny enough, the Maverick is about the same size as a 90s era OBS F-150. Now, the F-150 is the size as the first generation Super Duties like someone already mentioned above. Everything is one-size up from where it should be.
Yeah last F150 I was actually behind the wheel of was a late 90s, wanna say 98, for an afternoon about 15 years ago, and Mav feels kinda as big as that memory.

I find the Maverick is kind of a chameleon. At the right angle it seems to be larger than it is, or maybe longer. Some kind of optical illusion. But then someone with a jacked up Ram behemoth rolls up next to it and you remember just how nimble the Maverick is.

The supersizing they have done in the last few (or more) years really blows my mind! One of our driving games is looking at two vehicles 4-5 years apart and comparing sizes.

In 1981 I bought a 1978 F100 regular cab with an 8-ft bed and it was significantly larger than my Maverick in all dimensions. The 300 cubic inch straight 6 with the three-speed manual shifter was a good combo. I routinely got over 20 mpg on the highway and with one tank I got mid 20's on a trip. Everything was hand calculated back then.

uhh, no.

I went straight form my father's '98 F-150, pretty much base but for power windows & locks, superb, to the '25 maverick I got for my wife.

Not even vaguely similar sizes!

The maverick does get much better mileage. While I got 25mpg (much to my surprise) on the 4.6 V8 f-150 on the 500 mile drive from San Jose to Las Vegas (a 2200 ft net rise), it just doesn't compare.

It feels like not a stupidly big truck. I don't get it. The world isn't a size comparison.

Every time I see a shiny F150 that's clearly never towed or hauled anything, I wonder what small thing it's owner is trying to compensate for. 😆

I’m sure my neighbor did this on purpose lol.

Not that you care but I’d tell my neighbor I was very sorry he has such a teenie weenie.
And I’d tell him not to worry, there are women folk who don’t mind and surgeons who might be able to help him.

My wife drives a Buick Encore, a compact crossover, tiny little thing, and I think with the roof rail thingies it might be taller than the Maverick. Trucks don't need to be behemoths for 99% of the people that park them at home.

You're getting 35+ mpg on an EcoBoost? Impressive! I've been bouncing back and forth between an EcoBoost or hybrid. I do mostly long freeway trips since I don't have to drive to work.
I've had both; 22 EB and now a 24 hybrid. Mileage in my EB was 32-33 hwy. The hybrid looses its comparative advantage if you mostly do hwy driving but still gets more hwy mpg than the EB.

The EB may have an advantage passing on two lane roads.

Since 70-80% of my driving is in San Diego I-5 traffic, I love getting 45-46 mpg in my hybrid. When I fill the tank the range shows as 600+mi. The hybrid has no problem accelerating on an onramp into traffic. The eCVT transmission is very smooth. I love my hybrid.

Yeah that's what I've been reading; the hybrid still manages to eek out a few more MPGs on the freeway compared to the EB.

I really want a 2025+ hybrid AWD 4k tow. I am considering to just buy a brand new one because my alternate is to buy a used EB AWD 4k tow, drive it for a couple years, and sell it once a nice 2025+ hybrid AWD 4k tow hits the used market.
