I’m actually not putting a full cat back system on my truck just a muffler that’s more free flowing. Looking to improve mileage and efficiency. I don’t want it to be too loud but maybe a nice rumble. I drive a lot of hiway miles to and from work so any gains in mpg is goodI am going to reply and open myself up to a whole gang of "they can't deny the warranty" replies but here I go anyway. Research very carefully before doing it. While "typically" cat back after market exhausts do not void a warranty they can lead to denial of some warranty claims. People will say Ford has to prove it. I have a family member who put an aftermarket performance exhaust on a 2021 Bronco. He had a sensor fail and I do not recall which one. But apparently Ford had seen enough failures they had done some testing and had documented proof that the system he had installed caused the failure and denied the claim. He tried several avenues of recourse and was told by an attorney that if they went to court he would lose based on the data Ford provided. While Ford can not deny the warranty claim for using aftermarket parts they can IF they can show it does not meet the specifications and operation of the original. Same with suspension modifications. Add a 2" lift and have an axle failure they will deny the axle under warranty because you modified the angles. use an oval offset muffler. if that's too loud, add another offset oval resonator.did you notice any difference in performance or gas mileage? I thought having a less restrictive muffler might help a bit. I don’t really want it to be loud. My wife especially doesn’t want it loud
Just so you understand i havent put any mufflers on my maverick!just my experience on modifying older cars in the past.if your wife doesnt like excessive noise on a performance muffler you better leave it alone.did you notice any difference in performance or gas mileage? I had a friend with a '27 Cadillac, a survivor, not restored (except for the repainted fenders, and the repaired engine block).

Ford considers anything behind the cats as “wear & tear” items and will not warrant - even OEM mufflers/pipes under their 3year bumper to bumper - unless the failure is due to a manufacturer defect.
