I m sure that stuff can ad SOME power but I highly doubt much Unless it can really increase turbo boost BUT then you need higher octane gas which you really can't get easily . Maybe then . The main reason it was easy back in the day as the engines weren't optimized for power they are today. The amount of hp these tiny engines put out today is amazing compared to the old muscle car days . HP per cube is way way higher today.

Whatever mods you do to a modern vehicle, you likely will never dip into single-digit mpg. You can't say that about old muscle cars. A gear swap alone could do that.

Your'e right newer cars are much faster. BUT The old cars could be easily modified like a set of headers and new intake and larger carb. Swap the cam shaft and look out. You could ad another 200 horse easy . My old 1975 455 Pontiac Trans am only had 200 HP Pitiful. 7.6 compression ratio, super low. . After I was done it was well over 400 hp. Not counting the 250 HP Nitrous. stage 3 kit . Bringing it into the 650 range.

Cant really add that much more to a modern car. But remember the Cuda with the 426 hemi rated at 425 hp really had 490 in 1970 and 1971. The GTO was never one of the faster cars. Pontiac engines were never really good even though I got mine up in decent range but I changed out pistons and heads too.

That matches my 76 455 trans am mileage almost exactly . Yes Holy dual pump 850 cfm which many told me was to big so I took a 650, 750 and 850 to drag strip went fastest with 850 dual pump . Yes my engine sounded like WW2 P51 airplane at idle with long duration camshaft. . 1/2 inch internal diameter size fuel line. The good old days lol.

Gawd, I would hope so. The Syclone had more than twice the engine displacement of the 2.0 Maverick.

If it ‘Jumped’ it would likely break.

Having come from the time of the Muscle Cars
I prefer the smooth controlled reactions of my Maverick.
The power and response of a small V-8 with Four banger gas mileage,

When I am alone on a highway, car or motorcycle, I hammer down. Vulgar displays of power are still a thrill for me. The point I was making is people think the new Maverick is fast. It is relatively speaking. This truck that was made 35 years ago was way ahead of it's time. It could beat pony cars, Ferraris, and easily beat Mavericks.

I can't afford a truck fast enough to accelerate quicker than even my slowest motorcycle. My quickest bike was well under 3 seconds 0-60.

As a kid, our family car was a '67 Camaro SS. Very quick and fast for the day but I'm pretty sure my AWD hybrid would smoke it off the line and maybe even 1/4 mile. It was gearing-limited to 120mph, not much faster than the claimed top speed of the Maverick that I've seen somewhere (not going to test it - those days are long gone for me, and after fast bikes would be disappointing lol)

I've never really considered the 0-60 time, as a number, to be important to me at all. I'm either happy with the vehicle's acceleration or I'm not. Since I didn't even test-drive my truck when I bought it I just accepted it for what it is: in my case a surprisingly economical (at least for fuel if not price) and useful small truck for my commuting and small rural property needs.

In any event - have fun burning off your tires. Might not be practical in any way but sure can be fun. LOL

Here is my thought on it: 0-60 gets you up to highway speed, it kind of is important for safety reasons. More important that 1/4 time for daily driving.

My saying is "My bike isn't the fastest thing on the road - but any car that can beat me, I am probably staring at and drooling over..."

Granted, I have owned my VFR800 for 17 years, and these days there are many EVs that can effortlessly walk away from it... so my old adage hasn't held up.

I hold the record at the Harley dealership: Tire worn out at 5000 miles, Sturgis, South Dakota and back. I asked the service guy. " My Harley shirt unbuttons itself at 90MPH. It starts at the top and progresses downward. It's hard to button back up at 100MPH. Do you have something 'Harley' that will help?" He walked away shaking his head. I smiled ear to ear. Tire replacement was around $300.00. BTW, the Syclone was a trail breaker in many ways. S10s had a steel front bumper. The Syclone came with a plastic bumper.

There's a man from Canada who is a well-known engine builder with a shop who also has a YT channel, and he's been around the block in terms of expertise. Dodge seems to be his favorite. Growing up I heard all the myths and legends surrounding the late 60's and early 70's HEMI. Many times, this man has dyno'd stock speck HEMI or even lightly modded (valve jobs) and he really puts the stories and tales to rest.
