Called my dealer today to schedule the latest recall fixes. Says they need two to three days to perform the work. What's going on, surely there isn't going to be mechanic on my truck for 24 hours to fix some reprogramming. Is this the new trend with dealers?

See if they can do a mobile service for the recall.

I had excellent results with the Ford mobile service.
Free and fast in my driveway.

Now, it has been the polar opposite experience for me from the dealer directly.

The mobile service is excellent, but they can't do all the recalls.

My local dealers wanted 2 weeks to get to the vehicle and then a week to finish it.
This was after an appointment I made that took a week to be seen.
I even asked the service department what was the point of an appointment.

No loaner. Just drop it off for 3 weeks and have fun walking everywhere.

Still pissed and salty to this day about the lack of give a shit from my local Ford Dealers.

So no, my Maverick has many recalls still not done.

I'm guessing they want it at the shop sitting there. If the opportunity arises they can get around to it in between bigger jobs. Filler work.

that's my thought as well. but what a way to inconvenience the customer. they did agree to give me a loaner. Just don't like the idea of them parking my car outside and banging car doors.

Write down the mileage because they may use it to run errands. Never trust a stealer.

This is exactly why I walk around the car with service e and take pictures when I drop it off an force them to recard the condition on the paper work. They are usually not honest about damage.

My Ford dealer does this everytime I take it in. Even for a quick oil change.

Yes, it is, some dealers offer some dealers don't

the Cadillac dealer that sponsors many of our club events (and does pretty well selling new Cadillacs in the process :crackup: ) has what looks like a giant MRI machine and takes a full 3D image, down to individual scratches!
