I think I got this thing looking pretty good with all the mid range Chinese stuff. Did a 2/3 rear seat platform for the husky. Put a Rival skid plate on it. They are apparently Australian but manufactured in Kazakhstan. So super light and tough. Tows my tent trailer and two kayaks.

Taught myself forscan through the club and did a bunch of great software stuff like offroad and tsr. Didnt get linex just got a bed mat and the weather tech tailgate protector.

Mabett flares bug guard and mud flaps. I got this russian dude to deal with the albi baba bros and assemble the topper for 2700 Cad. It will only be on in the winter and for camping i think. The Rino racks are nice naked roof cross bars and they don't have much labeling on them.

I ended up buying those black alloys from the dealership and convinced them to put the shitty conti's on them for my summer tires and I got them to put nice winters on the steelies that come with the XL and i put like 5 cans of matte black spray paint on them and the spare.

I have always (still am) been fascinated by these Aluminum toppers from Ali Express that are listed for a reasonable price. I'm glad you were able to buy one and post pictures because it looks great! I wanted one for the summers for hauling pups and for campings trips. I got too good a deal on the used market for a soft topper and it has been working perfectly fine, but will definitely consider this if a second time comes around. Thanks for posting.
How heavy is it to take off and put on? Can one person do it? How complicated is it to secure it?

$1500 on AliExpress means it would cost about $5000+ if bought in a shop in Merkuh. For the same exact thing but brought over in bulk in a shipping container and then sold at retail from a brick and mortar store. With the right research and eye for detail, Ali Express can save you a ton of $. Unless weirdo tariffs are applied, and then it's $2500 from Ali, and $7500 from the shop down the street.

One person, I’d say no. Really easy with two people
Hardest part is getting it leak proof
Where the sides of the bed meet the front was the problem area for water getting in for me

I have a very similar topper and really happy with it. I didn't have to assemble mine (bought it used)so getting the brake light hooked up was the toughest part

I had to build a custom harness from taillights to the edge of the bed with one of those curt boxes but i added in a dome light and running light. took me a couple tries. had to put load resistors on the turn signal outputs from the box....... then i found out e trailer and curt make custom ones for the maverick for 160$ i spent about 90$ and probably 4 hours by the end of it haha. Dome light install was pretty good got a maverick innovation 3d printed switch and two fixtures off amazon and self tapp screwed them into the the roof.

For weight i have a pulley system in my garage roof because my wife wont help with anything. It is aluminum though. The guy who installed for me added better weather stripping for customer service. so i've got no leaks yet.

Yeah thats why I paid a guy to import/install. I ordered it in march received in june. but yeah all in install/import 2700$ CAD is 1900USD with install. He had a vendor he trusted and i'm pretty sure he sent it back once cuz customs officials tore the container apart and damaged the contents. and the first time i think they sent him the wrong model. but he handled it all. He also said the steel ones are a pain in the ass and they rust almost immediately.
